has anyone cruised from fort lauderdale what car rental is near the port to rop you

can you tell me what car rental at the fort lauderdale airport can you get a car and is it near the port to drop off car and a shuttle to take you there or are there hotels with transfers to the port,I want to fly in the day before

Maria,

We just returned from a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Airport and Cruise hotel. We took the Marriott shuttle from the airport to the hotel, and the next morning, we took the shuttle to the port. Very easy. (This is complimentary, by the way)

When we returned, we called National Car Rental, they picked us up in their bus, and took us to their office. We then went to our timeshare for a week. When we returned the car, we were taken back to airport.

Actually, we did this twice, LOL; we had our flight cancelled due to the storm, so we went back to the same Courtyard. We left Tuesday, but on Sunday and Monday, there were a lot of people going to the Port for their cruises.

Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport is less than two miles from the cruise terminals at Port Everglades.

There's a brand new rental car center there. See http://lsta.broward.org/newsrelease/viewscreen.asp?MessageID=681

It's likely (but you should call to confirm) that any airport hotel with complimentary shuttle service to the airport also serves the cruise port.

Port Everglades absolutely has Port Canaveral beat in terms of convenience to the airport.

Maria, Tthe telephone # is 954 342 8333. The mailing address says Dania Beach, but it is only a few miles from the Fort Lauderdale airport...and Port Everglades

Oh, yes, I forgot, the new car rental site is opening this week! Our bus driver said all the car companies will be in that building. There will be a multicolored bus to pick up at the airport for all rental company customers.
