Has anyone connected in Boston recently?

The last time we connected thru Boston they were only allowing 1 carry on bag and made people go check in any extras. I'm trying to save myself the hassle but using ME we were planning on 2 carry-ons. TIA

Hi, they are still fairly strict about it ... 1 carry-on and 1 personal item - i.e. purse, backpack, laptop bag etc. :-)

Then again, it's not just Boston. They have the same standard in Orlando from my experience.

If you pack the stuff you need right away in the first carry-on and check the second, DME will get it to your room within a couple of hours of arrival, so no big deal there. You say you want to save yourself hassles, checking one of the bags (curbside check-in reduces hassles, big-time) with DME tags on it, should reduce your hassles; it has been my experience that two carry-on bags are somewhat difficult to manoeuvre anyway, so letting DME take care of one of your bags might not be a bad idea.

Have a great trip.

I agree that it's not just Boston -- I fly regularly and see this everywhere.

The question is usually how strict the gate agents are, and this seems to vary from person to person. Plus if a flight is particularly crowded, you can bet they're going to be more strict than usual.

It depends, some agents at Logan are very strict. I guess it just depends on who ya get.

Thanks for the replies. We are only going thru Boston and that is the only one that has ever had poster board size notices all over the place with strict restrictions. We originate elsewhere so you would figure what's good where you start is good where you connect. Like I said last time we had to go thru security all over like we had originated in Boston. This was just after 9/11 and so we have not seen the place since then. I know there have been some major changes there, I just don't specifically know what they were. Maybe this issue has been eliminated. I would check everything but using ME and no car/grocery stop I was planning on taking extra things this trip and either I don't want them all smashed or I don't want them where I cannot see where they have been and handled if ya know what I mean. Thanks for any more info anyone has.
