Has anyone checked in with room ready at VWL lately?

I'm still trying to get my game plan together for our late Nov. trip. If you've checked into VWL lately, tell me how it was. Did you get your room requests, what time did you check in? I can't help but obsess about this!

Pat, what time did you check in?

We checked into a one bedroom there last week, and the room was ready for us at about noon! We didn't make any particular request, other than non-handicap. The room was fine in every regard. And this was the week of the press events, and it was very busy there.

I've never had anything but good experiences at WL. Like all DW resorts, depending when you check in; things can be a bit busy.

We checked in this past Labor Day, and our room was ready when we got there: I believ it was around 12:30PM.

I got there at 10 am - it was ready and just what I asked for - close to the elevators and looking out at the pool - it was on the second floor - so the view were of the trees surrounding the pool - but mother has trouble walking so I ask for a lower room that most people would.

We got there about 9:30 this summer after our cruise. I had asked for a pool/lake view. I forgot I had left my DVC card in our bags which I had checked, assuming no room would be ready. But while I was getting my card, DH "charmed" the CM into finding us a room that was ready--you guessed it, the one all the way at the end of the hall facing the dumpster on the third floor.
Now this wasn't really a problem, it was only 3 nights, but we had the exact same location on the fifth floor in 2002!
I will always wonder if there was a room being prepared for us that actually met my request, which was made 11 months out, or if the CM thought she was doing us a favor. I would rather have waited. But DH was pretty proud of himself .

Too funny Robin! We can check in bright and early the Sunday after Thanksgiving, or I can wait til after church, around 12-1. We will be staying in the area on Sat. night so I can go check in while the rest of the family sleeps if I need to. I really want Pat's view. We'll be in a 2 bed lockoff with my parents and Sis-inlaw. I really want this trip to be special for them. Most of all, I want my non-smoking room!

robin I generally show my confirmation - but I have been told I need only give my name!!! So you don't need your DVC member card.

We checked in at 10AM in mid September when the resort was fully booked. We made no requests and had all of them met!
