hello

i have ress at AKL (deposit paid) with the AP code- if i switch to the general public codes i won't have to purchase AP and will save approx $39.00 total-

has anyone had a hassle changing from AP ress to General codes??
saving $30.00 bucks is nice but not worth any major confusion for me

I just switched my Polynesian Reservationsfrom AP rate to new code AJE. I called CRO. They used my same reservation number and changed it to the new code. I saved $10.00 a nigt for 7 nights. It wasn't a huge savings but will buy a lunch. It was not a hassle at all.

I wouldn't hesitate at all to change your reservations.

I did it yesterday and it took all of 5 minutes. The CM was great. First I asked for rates and availability with the code. Then I told her I had an existing AP reservation. She then asked for that reservation # and applied the new rate.

Good luck!!!

Hi,

When you write above that you "saved $10 a night" how is this possiable? The room only rates with the general code are more expensive then the room only AP rates.

Clarification will be appriciated as I do not want to make a long distance call if I already have the best room only rate.

Hi bratray,

How are you saving money? The room only general public rates are more expensive then the room only AP rates. I do not want to make a long distance call to only find out that I already have the lowest room only rate.

Clarification will be appriciated. If the general public codes are less then the AP code for room only then I would also call to change our ressie.

You have to factor in the cost of the AP vs. the cost of another type of ticket. Many people make AP reservations, but don't buy the AP until they arrive. So while the room rate may cost a little more now, the cost overall cost is less because they don't have to spend the extra money for the AP.

Tiffany-My familyand I are staying GV Concierge. I was paying $266.00 per night with tax and now I am paying $256.00 per night with tax. I know regular room rates were slightly higher with the code, but the Concierge rates were a little less for the Poly at least. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the clarification rla5d. Since we are planning on three trips totaling 22days during the 12 months between 02/01/03 and 01/31/04 buying the APs make sense for us.

I would agree that if you are only doing one trip in a 12 month period of less then 8days then going with the general code and different tickets might work out to less money.

Hope you have a great trip.

Thanks for the clarification disneyforme33. It is interesting that the general code is less then the AP rate for Poly Concierge. Well, I am happy that you were able to get such a great rate and I hope you have a great trip.

It wasn't a problem at all. Since we are only going once this year, we thought it would be best.
Calculating the cost of the Annual Passes against the Park Hopper:
The Park Hopper has the Plus options, the basic AP does not.
Hey, if there is a warm spell in Feb, maybe I will try the Water Parks!! :-)

I just called CRO to change my existing AP rate to the AJE code rate. "Zelda" informed me that this code is for online booking only, that I would have to book a new ressie online, including a new deposit, then call and cancel my current ressie and my card would be credited with the amount I have currently paid.
Anyone else been told this?

I used it through CRO on the PHONE. No problem. I'd call back, because I was able to switch my AP to room only this morning.

You shouldn't have a problem.

Another thing to consider is discounts you get with an AP. You can get dicounts to the water parks, DQ, Mini-golf, and I am sure I am forgetting things. These discounts may make it worth to keep the reservation and buy the AP.

If you plan it right you may make a second trip on the same AP's. Just plan for 2 week earlier next year.

When we booked for last May we had the AP rates first and then rebooked with a public code because it was cheaper. Just because it is an AP rate don't think that you are getting the best deal. We had a wood view room at the WL and it was $10 a night cheaper switching to a public code rate from the AP rate.

Thanks for the clarification skiwee1. It does appear that some of the room categories at some of the resorts are less then the AP but not many. You reported the Woods View at the WL and someone else has reported the Concierge(sp?) rooms at the POLY are less with the general code.

The standard rooms at the Moderates are $85 with the general code and $79 with the AP rate.

I ended up upgrading from a standard room at CSR to a "savanna view" room at the AKL for $171.80 inc taxes a night with the AP rate. The general code for this room was about $10 more per night.

Well thanks again for the clarification and I hope you have a great trip.

disneyforme33,
I currently have reservations booked with the AP rate at Wilderness Lodge for 149/night. Does this sound ok or should I try something else? Where did you find the code AJE, if you don't mind me asking. Thank you for any info.:D

It worked for me. We at first had reservations at WL for the woods view with the AP rate. They didn' have the standard rooms available at the time that I made the reservation. I called back today and the woods view room was $10 more per night but they had a standard room available for cheaper. To sum it up, I changed the room category and changed it to the code rate and kept the same reservation number and didn't have to change the deposit in any way.

WDWSuperFan-I found the AJE code on the disneyworld website. You can also check out www.mousesavers.com for all the recent codes. I believe this board has a code page as well. What is your view at the Wilderness Lodge? Sounds like it is a pretty good rate.

Thank you for the code info. We have a courtyard view. I checked out the code at mousesavers. It will not apply to our trip dates (week before Christmas). You must be going in Jan or Feb. Hope you have a great trip.:D
