Can anyone tell me if they picked a unity candle then decided on sand???

I dont know anything about the reasoning for sand. Can someone explain?

Also, what does disney charge for color sand or do we have to get it ourselves?

We are doing sand, it is the same concept as a unity candle. We chose it for 2 reasons, our ceremony is outside(dont want candles to blow out) and we are using it as a family unity ceremony with our children(11,7,2) Fire and little boys is never a good thing:rotfl:

We actually bought our own set because we wanted to have it monogramed and have our date on it, but disney will provide these(charge, I will check my beo if you want to know how much) and we are getting sand through them also
hth :)

Thanks Sandy yeah if you want to PM me and let me know the cost because I'm considering it...

I dont mind sharing-

center container (with lid) and 5 sand colors $35.

rental for bud vases (they hold the sand before you pour into the main container) $5 each.

Not bad!:)

I'm also doing sand so our kids can be incorporated. We're each going to have different shades of blue and pink. It will be five colors on all.

Very cool! Im doing a lasso ceremony. I know it's different then a sand ceremony, but I figured Id throw it out there.

We're doing a sand ceremony too... the theme of our wedding is "fall fun", and we thought the sand was more fun than a candle.

You can find a lot of sets on the wedding sites like theknot and weddingchannel, but we opted to buy our set off of eBay, and we'll buy the sand separately. You can find some nice sets on eBay for $25.

There are also various websites out there that sell all sorts of different shapes, so it's good to look around and see what you can find.

I am planing on a sand ceremony. Mostly because we are doing it outside and the candles would not be illluminated very well.

We're looking at a Sand Ceremony too, and I believe the site we're looking at is called something like Forever Memories.

Summer used them, and they shipped the Ceremony set direct to her Disney resort for her, handy when you're in the UK :thumbsup2

Will have to remember to allow luggage weighting for getting it home though!!

I have actually just seen this for the first time today but I think I would really like to do this at my VR to incorporate the girls too.

I am doing the sand ceremony for two reasons.

1. I am at Sea Breeze Point so the candle would blow out.

and..

2. Because I saw something about the sand ceremony on a website which i totally forgot the address of, but it said that the unity candles are blown out but the sand ceremony puts two different colors of sand together and once those grains of sand are mixed together you can never seperate them again.

Beautiful thought! :goodvibes

my daughter is doing the sand ceremony. She bought a beautiful heart shaped set, on ebay, that has a top on it so they can keep it after..it is engraved withtheir names and date..very beautiful!!!
