My DD will be turing 4 less than a week from our return on our first cruise. Has anyone celebrate a birthday early? If so, what have you done to celebrate?

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you!

If you booked directly with DCL call them and add the birthday to the reservation, or advise your TA and ask them to do it. A week is not to early to celebrate. The general procedure is for the servers to bring a cake to the table one night at dinner.

You might also consider ordering something special either from Disney's offerings or Shirley at The Perfect Gift. On our past 2 cruises I ordered from Disney, this time from Shirley. Not as impressed with the revised offerings.

Web site is www.theperfectgift.cc or call her at 1-800-950-4559

We did use a TA but I called Disney to ask a question about our cruise. The lady was going over my package with me from Disney when I asked her was there any special celebration for Birthday's on the ship she said yes they would bring a cake to your table and sing. I then ask if this could be done for my DD even though we were traveling the first of Oct and her BDay wasn't until the last. She said yes, what night of your cruise would you like to do it.?
Disney is great . DD will love it and make her 10 th Bday great.

And beyond that, I would recommend a 'birthday girl' button, tee or something, the crew will be celebrating with her all cruise. :)

My husband's B'Day has always been a week before the cruise and mine is the week after the cruise. We are May babies and pretty much always cruise in May.

Just call DCL and let them know you are celebrating a birthday and they will "surprise" the birthday person with a cake and singing at one of your restaurants you dine in.

When I called DCL to make my final cruise payment, the TA noticed that my son's bday was May 2. We are sailing 5/18. She asked if we wanted to celebrate his bday!
I didn't even think about it because it occured before the cruise.
I thought it was great of her to notice and to suggest a celebration. We will be having cake on our first night!

Yes, Disney is great!

The only negatives about the waiters bringing out the birthday cake, as well-intentioned as it is, is that:

1. They usually bring it out AFTER they serve the menu dessert, and since

2. the cake served doesn't come close to being anything like their desserts,

...most of it goes uneaten.

I will be celebrating my B'day on the day we set sail...I have my birthday girl button all ready and plan on celebrating all week!!!

MickeyB426: You are exactly right. Last two cruises we just put the cake in our cooler in the stateroom.
