Laptop computers. The screens are usually much bigger and the unit is typically more compact then a tv/vcr.

If you already have one that plays DVD's your all set.
You can get an inverter for like $40- 50 that will give you 110v from your cigerette lighter so the batteries are not an issue.
If you have one that s only has cd-rom and not dvd-rom and you happen to have one of those video editors for your pc, you can make a video cd. It will only hold a short period of time (maybe 30minutes?) hopefully long enough for an episode of bear or whatever tv show you want. I've seen free software on the net to play video cd's on a laptop.
ALot more expensive (maybe not then the ceiling units), but if you already have one- you're getting a 'movie player' for FREE!
