Has Anyone bought AP's at SOG?

My hubby & I are planning our next trip down to WDW in Dec at the SOG. We will be purchasing AP's and saw that we can get a military discount on these as well. Has anyone bought AP's at SOG, or do you need to purchase over the phone for the discount? Any info would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Once you arrive at SOG just stop in to their Attractions and Ticket office (which is also the gift shop) and purchase your AP vouchers at the discount rate. You will then need to trade your voucher in for the actual AP at a ticket booth at your first park.

We got AP's at SoG this past December. Once we found the temporary office at the Contemporary (we were "directionally challenged" for a few minutes...) things went well. It is a nice discount - about the best one around for AP's.

In fact, you *cannot* purchase them from SOG prior to arrival, as they are very picky about seeing your military/DOD ID in person! So, just stop by the Attractions office when you get there and you'll be set. And yes, it's the best discount going!

If you want your tickets before you leave, some base ticket/travel offices carry them....nearly all of them carry the 4 and 5 day hoppers, but not all have the annual passes. It should be the same discount as SOG, too. You could check there...but you will still get a voucher that will need to be traded in for the real pass at guest services when you get to the parks.

Question--We are planning on going to WDW in Jan '05 with my sister and her family. Her DH is in the military and we're planning on getting 2 rooms at SOG for the 2 families. If my sister's husband is with us, can my family purchase AP's from SOG?

Yes, if you're staying there, I believe they do let you buy passes. Someone with a military ID may still have to be with you to show ID, so make sure one of them goes with you! We had no trouble getting passes in December for non-military family members who were traveling with us...we had SOG overflow rates at AKL.
