I just changed my ressies from POFQ to CSR waterview which cost a little bit more, and I don't think it's worth it to pay if we're not even going to look outside our window. I am thinking of switching back to POFQ cause they have a std view with the price I like.

If you have stayed at POFQ lately, how was it? How was the housekeeping? How was the food selection? How was the CMs there? How was everything? Thanks!

POFQ refurbishment was completed not long ago. Although I've not stayed there since then I've read posts here that have raved about the new rooms. Nice, clean and fresh.

Seems mousekeeping is mostly good, but some have said theirs was not the best -seems mostly in parts of buildings 5 & 2, but others in those same building had no problem.

I'll be there the 9th to 14...will be remembering my angel son esp on the 9th...would have been his birthday, but he now celebrates in heaven.

Take care, Fantasia, and I pray this trip will hold magic and treasured memories.

Christine
p.s. Beautiful children!!! :sunny:

Thanks Christine. I am sorry to hear about your son. We are celebrating my husband's "life" on Dec 9 and as well as our 10th year ann on Dec 11. We'll be on a cruise and at WDW. It's always hard when the date is aproaching near.

I have read a few bad reviews as far as the housekeeping goes and this is what I am worried about. I just hate to pay more for a waterview at CSR. I love CSR, but I am on a budget, but at the same time, I don't want a bad service to dampen my vacation either. I am not crazy about the POFQ bus sharing with PORS.

I know bad service can happen anywhere, but from what I remember, POFQ had a bad rap as far as the housekeeping goes, but then again, I think this was around the time FLorida got hit by hurricanes.

Hey!!! We love CSR too and just stayed at POFQ a few weeks ago. There are several GREAT things about this hotel. The first thing everyone rants and raves about is how small and compact it is...blan..blah...blah, but no one ever raves about how GORGEOUS it is!!!!!! Imagine my surprise (and I just ruined it for you...)The room is the PRETTIEST we've stayed in yet (check out my sig). The grounds are breathtaking. There are these "parks" between the buildings (too big to be called courtyards). I thought that the buildings would be all pretty much the same (Just different colors)-no! They are all very unique. The beignets ARE yummy!!!! The bus service is EXCELLENT! It does not seem to share in the early morning -too full and when we returned, POFQ is the first stop anyway. Kind of dissapointing because we really wanted to see POR....

The only negative is the pool. Not that exciting just coming off of a trip to the BC, but I did not see any kids complaining (least of all, mine!)

We had great mousekeeping!

I vote for switching back to POFQ. My only real complaint is that we had to cut our trip short due to Jeanne!

Susy, where was your room and which building at POFQ, please??

Thanks!!

So glad you enjoyed your stay there!! I'm going in December.

Honestly, we were disappointed. We were in building #5 and had horrible housekeeping, I cleaned the bathroom each day.

Moved to building #4 and housekeeping was much better.

Also, we discovered FQ quite by accident two January's ago. Loved the fact that it was quiet and the pace seemed relaxed. That is NOT the case now. We were amazed at how different this resort is when it is PACKED to the gills with people, argh!

We have discovered that there is no longer a "low" season at WDW. What a dissappointment.

Also, people are just rude! Pushing, shoving, swearing, etc. Each morning at both buildings, we were awoken to screaming kids (i.e., "Hey Mom!) or running up and down the corridors. This is at 7am! What happened to vacation?

Lastly, the problem with FQ when it is busy is that it is small and when it is full, it feels packed.

We will be trying POR again in January and depending on our experience, we may stay with Riverside or try CSR or CBR (again).

We have friends that are going in a week to FQ and we just hope that they have better experiences with visitors and crowds...

We were at FQ from 10/23 through 10/28 and had an absolutely wonderful time. We were in building 6 and housekeeping was just great, no problems at all. The resort must not have been full, because it was very quiet, and the food court was frequently not full at all. The busiest time seemed to be around 8 - 9 in the am, but lunch and dinner were both pretty empty. We enjoyed the food. No, it's not gourmet, but as hubby said, for what it is, it's pretty good. His burger was better than he anticipated! And you just can't beat those chocolate chip pancakes! As another poster said, the resort itself is just beautiful. That's why we love it. And the new rooms are just great. I love the new bedspreads!

Thank you guys for sharing your experience. jay-nee, did you asked to be moved to another bldg? Did you call the front desk to redo the room since they didn't do a good job cleaning the room? We are going in Feb 12-19. Is it busy during that time?

Anybody else stayed here lately? I am still debating to whether change my reservation to POFQ and save $118 from CSR waterview to std view at POFQ.

I stayed at POFQ from 9/24 to 9/29 and found the resort absolutely beautiful. We had no problems with mousekeeping at all. Hurricane Jeanne hit on Saturday night and we asked for extra towels because we knew the next day we had to stay in our room; they showed up with plenty of towels and a smile. I was very impressed. I really liked this resort. I wasn't too impressed with the food court... I think the one at Pop is much, much better.

Although we loved this resort, we actually prefer Pop because of its atmosphere. Go figure. I wish that Pop had the same rooms as POFQ, though, cuz they are roomy and really pretty. Oh, well, I am not complaining... they are different prices...

I haven't stayed at CSR, so I cannot compare but I recommend POFQ.

Thank you guys for posting your experiences. Anyone else stayed here lately? Good or bad, I would like to hear your experience. Thanks!

We were a Grand Gathering, 3 rooms.

First the good, (which for us, was nearly everything):
Mousekeeping was great - whatever time we returned to our room, it had been cleaned to our satisfaction.
Food court - food and atmosphere were great! It surpassed our expectations. (Used Q&C vouchers and always got a fantastic deal).
Pool area: Fun for all ages! I was impressed with the staffing. As you would expect, in August the pool was often busy. We always found a space with chairs; they were kept tidy, not shuffled all over the place. The life guards were on top of rowdy kids, in a very "disney" way. I felt very comfortable with my four year old going up and down the slide because there was great supervision.

Now the bad:
Bus service: I am just figuring we had bad timing because we always waited at least 15 minutes, sometimes longer. One afternoon, on our way back from BB we actually waited for over an hour! Without exaggeration every other resort had gotten numerous busses before POFQ got even one. So many people had gathered, we had to wait for the second bus to come, and when we pulled away, there were still more guests abandoned at the water park! This became frustrating by the end of our 8 days! We tried to have the attitude, "were on vacation, we aren't in a rush to get anywhere." However, it got difficult day after day waiting.

The UGLY: the manager that was on duty the day we checked in. As I said, we had three rooms. When we arrived at around 1:00, only 2 were ready. That was more than okay. We dropped our bags, freshened up, and off we went. We had taken a 7 AM flight, which meant we were up at around 4 AM; we got tired earlier than we expected. We went back to POFQ, then let the kids swim for awhile. At 7:00 PM we called the front dest to check on the 3rd room. It was still not ready. We waited until 8PM, called again. No still not ready, which we knew because it was next to the other 2 rooms and no mousekeeping had arrived. Within a couple of minutes mousekeeping arrived. My sister (whose room it was) decided to go to the front desk to speak to the manager. Long story short, he was extremely condescending and basically not apologetic at all, which was the problem! After explaining that she had 3 exhausted children that needed to get to bed, he offered 1/2 a night credit. She left satisfied. She came back to my room. Knocked on the door of what would be her room. The mousekeeper informed her it would be at least another 1/2 hour, (I do not know what kind of shape the room was left in). This would bring us to after 9 PM. My sister went back down to the manager. She asked him if she stayed 4 to 5 hours past check-out time what would happen? He, of course, tried to avoid answering her very direct question. Once he realized she wasn't letting him off the hook, he said she'd be charged an extra day. She asked, "Not a 1/2 day?" He then said he would give her credit for a full day. I really want to say, had he treated her differently this wouldn't have been such an issue. He really tried to play it off like her expectations were too high, not that they were falling short! She got into the room at about 9:15 PM. Oh, by the way, mousekeeping did a superb job!

Sorry so long, but that was our experience. I would definitely go back, though. The atmosphere and great CM's made this vacation great even with a rocky start and slow transportation!

No, we did not ask to be moved. Actually, they never even told us we would be moved. I found out quite by accident (just happened to check the keycard before we headed out).

We had a split ressie. Came in on 09/24 (the night before Jeanne) and had to check-out/check-in again on 09/29 for the rest of our stay (10/09). I called on 09/28 to make sure we could keep our room (building 5 - bathroom very clean by now, as I have cleaned it several times). Was told yes. Then, like I said, a mix-up... So, we moved to building 4, courtyard side, happened to be very noisy (as said before, like 7am EVERY day, yikes...).

They did move us back to our same room (builidng 5) after 5 nights (supposedly some sort of "rennovation" - nothing had been updated). And the room was dirty again. I will say that building 5 was very convenient to everything and when you are there as long as we are every year, that makes a big difference.

Building 4 was much, much cleaner, but we are not early risers on vacations, we are night owls. Especially when it is so hot and humid (sept trip). So the noise level was a bit much for us (see prior post).

We love FQ. It is beautiful and the CMs are great (we really think the room change with Jeanne and the overflows that occured, but one will never know). We have stayed in building 3 also, and that was awesome. We had really hoped for a nice, relaxing vacation, but it was so busy and people just need to chill and quiet down a bit. We just find that people are less and less consider each trip, it's hard, we remember the days when people were just thrilled to be there each and every day. Now you hear people complaining and swearing and yelling at their kids constantly. It's a little stressful (actually alot stressful).

Well, we are heading back in Jan for a week and a half and are thinking about trying CSR, so what do you think? We want a quiet room that is not a million miles from everything (DH and I have really bad knee issues), any chance? We are just hoping that is just not so crazy busy...

We were there 3 weeks ago and everything was fine. We were in building 4, third floor. It was clean and quiet, Housekeeping was good .
We found the food court to be good as well but not as good as POR.
The grounds are lovely and strolling around at night is very relaxing!!!
We found the bus to be quick and even though you share with POR , POFQ seems to be first on the run. So we just about always got a seat.
Oh and don't forget the boat to DownTown Disney VERY nice perk!!

POR will always be our fav. but like on this trip if we can't get a discount there our second choice is POFQ.
