My family and I are planning on going to Hershey this Sunday. My husband and I probably haven't been there for 10 years. I was wondering about what kind of places there are to eat at in the park. Any recommendations???

I was there just before Memorial Day. The park was looking great. I hadn't been in about 3-4 years. I noticed that for food there is a huge selection. Of course you can get hot dogs, burgers, pizza, and chicken fingers, but they also have gourmet salads, wraps, vegetarian options, a chinese restaurant, pasta, and soups in breadbowls. If you go early, some of the places also serve breakfast items.

We were just there June 10th. (one of my "trial runs" for Disney prep - to try out fanny packs, shoes, water bottles, etc.!)

There are TONS of places to eat - however, they are all really expensive for sub-standard food. When we were leaving, we noticed the sit-down restaurant at the front of the park - the menu looked great, no prices on it, though. I think we would have preferred to eat there. You might want to check it out on your way in.

(We went to Six Flags American on Father's Day and thought the food there was much better for the money.)

They have all of the goodies that the previous poster mentioned, plus they used to have a sit down restaurant at the entrance. Right outside the park is a Red Robin. And if you want a very nice, yet casual setting overlooking the park and mountains, take a quick jaunt (3-5 minute drive) to the Hershey Hotel right across from the park. The Fountain Cafe is really nice and has a balcony overlooking the park and mtns. We usually go there before the ice shows at the Giant Center.

Sharon,
I will be at Hershey on Sunday too! I think I will sporting my Lime Green Mickey Head keychain... come say hi if you see it!

I haven't been to Hershey since I was a kid and we are really looking forward to it.

See ya there!

Not sure what I'll be wearing, but I will keep an eye out for you!!

My brother went 6/13. He said it was kind of crowded. The wait for the new coaster was an hour and a half.

We are going there in August, spending a long week-end there, is 1 day enough in the park or should we do 2 days??

AH, Storm Runner!

Sounds absolutely intense. But I have to do Cedar Point first.

I always loved the Chocolate Tour at Hersheypark. That's what I would really look forward to.

Hershey used to have a deal where you purchased full price admission in the evening (after 4?) & could enter the park for the rest of that day & return the next day. That would give you extra time for the same $.

With 3 kids, we always manage to do the whole park in one day. We can never fit in the zoo, though (part of your admission). So, if you can do 2 days - then you will have plenty of time! :)

I'm going with a bunch of people on July fourth. All of the kids are between three and eleven, so I'm hoping all ages can find something to do. I bet it will be crowded then. We all want to tour the Chocolate factory too, and sight see!:sunny:

As you're coming up through Pa, watch for the grocery store called "Giant," you might be able to get discounted tickets there. My husband gets all our tickets at a reduced price from his work now, so I'm not sure if Giant still sells them or not, but they save a good bit per ticket and wouldn't be a waste of your time if you're able to get them. Keep in mind, we also have a store called "Giant Eagle," and this is not the same store. I don't believe (although I could be wrong) that there are any Giant Eagles around the Harrisburg area though.

we live about 2 hours away from hershey, so we get to go alot. but of course i can't remember the name of the place to eat i'm going to tell you about!! it is over behind the dolphin show, over by the trailblazer. they have the best steak sandwiches, corn on the cob and baked beans!! in the morning you can see the smoke from them cooking the beef!! we always start at that side of the park. we hit all the rides there first. it's never crowded them because everyone runs to the big rides first! have a great time.. we may be going this weekend!!

Don't forget where you parked your car! We did that on fourth of July! We walked to see the fireworks to the big hill across the street. I think it's in front of a school. When we walked back the parking lot is huge, and we got confused. They do have parking security if you really can't find it.

It costs 7.00 per car load to park. You can come and go and only pay once. keep your stub. they stamp your hand. It stayed on through swimming and showering, lol! If you want to go back to the park later.:sunny:
