We just booked for a long weekend. My wife and I have been to Hershey Park(before kids) about 10 years ago. We were wondering how it is during Christmas time? Besides the park/zoo what else is there to do during this time? Thanks!

We went once. It was cooooooollllld!!! we didn't last long in the park but went on a trolley ride. That was really cute. Santa actually gets on the trolley at one point:thumbsup2

I haven't but I want to take DD when she is a bit older. I think she would love the ice skating and smores.

There is a large light display. It is a little costly (20 bucks a car, I think) however; it was one of the best I have ever seen. Signs are outside of the park directing you.

Has anyone done the trolley? My kids are 3 & 5, is there anything on the tour-- it's a Christmas version this time of year!!

Also, has any done Hershey Gardens this time of year? I'm presuming it will be decked out for Christmas.

THANKS!

We've done the park twice...it was FREEZING. You can go into Chocolate World to warm up (and hit the ride and the free chocolate at the end!).

We've never done the lights, but I've heard it's impressive.

One thing that we did in Hershey one summer was the Hershey museum...I can't for the life of me remember what it was called...Oh, the Hershey Story I think. Your kids might be a smidge to young to really get all the info, but you and your wife will enjoy it. They also have a chocolate lab where you can make your own chocolate, and a cafe that offers chocolate tastings (of melting chocolate...really interesting to do!)

My strategy for Christmas in Hershey is to get there during the late afternoon. Around 3:00 or so. It is warmer when the sun is up, so you can get a lot done then if you are ride people. I'm a watcher and it's much more tolerable to watch during the day than at night.

Once the sun goes down, hand warmers are a blessing. I'm pretty good about being in the cold as long as my head, hands and feet aren't frozen. My hat works for my head. My Ugg's work for my feet and handwarmers in my gloves keep my fingers toasty.

When the kids are finished riding and we're finished walking around looking at the lights, we head to Chocolate World and do the tour and shopping at the end. Why carry bags in the park when you don't have to do that?

That's when we usually head home because we live only 2 hours away.

My sisters live close by there and they say that the lights display through which you drive is wonderful. We just haven't bothered to do that yet.

Hey guys, thanks for the info. But we may have to cancel the trip:sad1: My wife's CEO wants her project done for the Monday after after our trip. She's alway had until the early spring to get it done. So.....:confused3

We had to cancel... not because of my wife's work, but DS(5) had a very yucky 24 hour "bug". But the good news(hopefully), we may use this savings and book a spring trip to the WORLD:yay::yay::yay:
