Having a really hard morning. I can't stop crying and I don't know how to go on this way. I have no idea how a grief counselor can help though. I am very close to my family and my husband is wonderful, but all I want is my mom.

When my father died I went for a period of time. It helped quite a bit. I highly recommend it.

Is there something that you can busy yourself with today?

Thank you. I'll be with my family later and my husband is here, but nothing really dulls this pain.

Been there! Can't explain what about grief therapy helps, but it does!! You should go...for yourself! Even though it's hard to imagine now, things WILL improve down the road.

I agree...find things to keep yourself busy. And when you have to take a break, do it! Sometimes I had to concentrate on just taking a breath. Hope you're feeling better soon!

I have not, luvwinnie, but continue to wish you well.'s Hoping the days get better, slowly but surely.

It will get better....I promise. I did do grief councilling for a while and it helped me to sort out and let go of some of my feelings. I would recommend it for all to do.

First of all, big {{hug}}. :(

Your pain is still raw; your mom isn't even gone a week. Of course this is when it hurts the most.

If you feel that grief counseling will help you, then by all means, go for it.

I think a lot of Catholic parishes offer it; I know ours does.

Also, I think Holy Name Hospital's social services division offers it. Would you like me to get you some info? I'm pretty sure it's either free or low-cost there and is close to where you live.

Hang in there, Michele. You'll never, ever be completely healed over losing your mom, but time will help you handle it.

I lost my mother 14 years ago this May, and I haven't stopped missing her yet. But the pain has gotten much easier to bear.

It will get better. Really it will. I still occasionally break into tears over the loss of my mom (usually completely out of the blue).

If you think grief counselling will help, then do it.

I went to one then became one after my son died 18 years ago this week. Use me if you want to, honey.

Many hospices offer free grief counseling even if the loved one wasn't a patient. The one I used to work for did individual and grief groups and also had a summer camp for children who had lost a loved one. There was no charge, but a lot of grateful participants made a donation.
