Has anyone been on Cipro?

I was first on Bactrin (Sulfer based antibiotic) for a kidney infection. Friday afternoon they changed it to Cipro. The insert says no dairy or iron for 6 hours before you take it or for 2 hours after. It has made it super hard to eat. On top of that I weighed in this morning and the scale says I've gained 6 pounds. This is heartbreaking. Any idea of is this a product that is water retentive? Is there any hope? Any suggestions?
