Has anyone been happy with every place they have stayed?

POR, CBR, Pop, and SSR. I loved them all for different reasons. Up next -ASMU. I hope I love it!

Still want to try - CSR, WL, BC, AK and more.

We've stayed at:

Caribbean Beach Resort
Port Orleans Riverside
Port Orleans French Quarter (3x)
Beach Club
Boardwalk Inn (3x)

I have never been unhappy. We are going at the end of August to take advantage of Free Dining and I have two rooms booked at Pop Century. I hope the trend continues :goodvibes

I've been a little worried, but most people seem to like it.

Honestly, no. On our first 'adult' trip to the 'World we planned a split stay w/ AKL and the Swan. We were blown away w/ AKL and seriously felt let down at the Swan. Beyond a total lack of any Disney Magic, we had several problems w/ our room that we had difficulties getting resolved. The next night, we took shelter at WL and had a wonderful rest of our vacation.

We did have a trip to the poly- booked a GVC room and were upgraded to a lovely room at LVC which sometimes had hot water and sometimes didn't (like in the AM ). That and some other issues left me feeling a bit cold towards the Poly. DH convinced me to try it again and we've had 2 subsequent trips there that have been amazing.

But we'll never go back to the Swan.

I think you will like pop....especially for the price....with free dining:thumbsup2

If you tend to be hot....and are worried about the Fl heat
in Aug.....and staying at POP....
I would....
Call maitenance when you arrive in room and have them override
sensors on A/C....to keep it cool...
Pack a small fan for nightstand....no ceiling fan...
If you drink coffee......bring small coffee maker to make coffee in room...
If you send that stuff ups.....probably cost maybe 10bucks....
Well worth eliminating a trip to food court in the morning
for the nasty nescafe...
have a great trip

We've stayed at the Dolphin, ASMovies, AKL, CR, and BC. We've had a blast at every place! :cool1:

In just a few days we'll be at Pop and we're expecting to have a great time there as well!

Kristie :)

i have stayed at...

wilderness lodge. small dark rooms, but still had a great time. willing to give this place another try.

contemporary. in the tower and the wings. great big rooms and lots of memories. never a bad choice.

grand floridian. had probably the worst view available and yet i could still see a palm tree so no worries.

boardwalk inn and villas. once again no real complaints.

we spend a lot of time at the resorts so it is crucial we enjoy them just as much as the parks. so far i am 4 for 4.

Kerri:

Thanks for the info. I will keep that in mind regarding the AC. I am always hot, so this could be helpful. I may pack the fan, as well. I'm not going to worry about the coffee. I enjoy a good cup of coffee in the morning, but not enough to drag a coffee maker down there or to send one. I'll live with the nasty Nescafe! It's only four days. I've been going to Disney for years and I haven't had a good cup of coffee yet. Why would this trip be any different? :goodvibes

Thanks.

We have stayed at AllSSp, POR, CBR, CSR, OKW and SSR and offsite once. I wouldn't say that we would never stay offsite again, just not at the hotel we stayed offsite at.

We loved CBR, POR and OKW. We liked SSR a lot. We only liked CSR and liked AllSSp a little less.

We didn't have a terrible stay at CSR, we just didn't like it as much as the other moderates. It is a beautiful resort and we would stay there before we stayed off site. But it would be our last choice of moderates. We didn't care for the set up of the food court. The food was good, but we didn't appreciate having a gratuity added on when we got our food, we got our table, we got our refills. My only guess was that we were supposed to be 10% grateful for eating there. Also, the dining area was next to the bar without any real divider other than an open iron fence. Since it is a convention hotel, the bar was full of conventioners each night. Every time we ate dinner there, my 7 year old son learned quite a few new words that we didn't really want him repeating. We also didn't like having just one sink when the other moderates had two.

Our issues with AllSSp was more with the size of the room, (too small), only one sink, and the noise. It was a much noisier resort than the moderates, which is what we were used to. We also like having the quiet pools that the moderates have. We didn't have any issues with the food court or the bus transportation. Again, it wasn't so bad that we would not consider a value again, but it would be at the bottom of our list.

Our second stay at CBR, which was an 8 day stay, our room was in Trindad South. We didn't like being out there. On the second night, we stopped at check in, and, they moved us that night. Loved the stay the rest of the time.

We take long breaks from the parks every day. So, the resort atmosphere is important to us.

I've stayed at the Poly twice, AKL twice, WL once, Pop once, All Star Sports once. I can honestly say I've enjoyed every night and day in each of them!

I was just curious. I've stayed offsite 5 times and I've stayed onsite 3 times and I have been happy with all of my trips.

I loved staying at the Pop, I loved staying at WL and I loved staying at the Poly.

I see so many posts of people who are disappointed with their hotel stays and I have to say that I personally have always had a positive experience. I'm not saying that every stay has been "perfect" but I'm willing to overlook some minor issues and human error and still have a great time!

Disneyworld, what more do you need to make a great vacation? :)

You know....I have to say yes.

For sure, there have been things I didn't like about some of the hotels/stays...usually small, occasionally "medium", never huge things.

But, all in all, I've liked every place we've stayed: From AS Music to CSR to the AKL and the Contemp. We've ranged the gamut, pretty much, and I've liked (going in knowing what each place was, and more importantly, wasn't) every single one of them.

I have stayed at the ALK, WL and the ASMovies, with an upcoming trip at the ASMusic. I have been happy with each and every hotel!

We've been pleased with all stays and all rooms -- we go deluxe, moderate, or value depending what we're in the mood for. . . We love the themes in the values, and the convenience and size of the food courts. We love the pools at the moderates -- they tend to be more stylized. We love the queen beds at the deluxes and have favorites based on restaurants, theme, or the monorail. Every trip it's always -- "What are we in the mood for this time?" Last stay was POP, the next will be AKL in September (unless we get moved, and then it'll be a new deluxe adventure. . .). We've been going regularly for 8 years, and we're all just thrilled to be in Disney having quality time together. . . Normally, I'm a pretty hard driving type A personality -- I'm so much easier to get along with when I'm getting my Disney fix. . .:cool1:

All Star Movies (three times, I think)
All Star Music
Coronado Springs
Contemporary
Poly
Animal Kingdom Lodge (love Boma!)
POP

My answer is a qualified yes - yes for all of the onsite hotels we've stayed in. No for the one offsite hotel we stayed in for one night - I hated no being on property.

On site we've stayed at Pop, POR, POFQ, CBR, WL, AKL, BCV, SSR, BWI, and the GF. All of these hotels have been great. I didn't like the standard view room at AKL and upgraded to a savannah view, but I loved the hotel

I'm so happy to be Home that I don't notice the bad things...I would gladly stay in the worst hotel in Orlando just to be "HOME"......hopefully in September or February,I will be back:thumbsup2

We've stayed at POR, WL, and YC. My DH and kids have enjoyed all of them. I didn't care for WL because the room decor was pretty dark and that's not my style. The pool was fun and we liked taking the boat to MK. I probably didn't give WL a fair shake because we all got sick on that trip so I associate that misery with the hotel, even though it's irrational. I will say that housekeeping was very nice to us when they had to bring fresh linens to us more than once:).

This trip we are doing one night at Pop, our first adventure at a value resort. I think I'm going in with realistic expectations of the hotel. I'm not expecting much from the room....just a clean place to sleep and shower. I'm much more interested in walking around the grounds and checking out all the decor from the different decades.

This past June we stayed onsite for 3 days at POR and then went over to our Condo just outside of Disney. We had more fun staying onsite than off, because we love all the perks that Disney provides for their guests. Because of that, my DH and I decided that we are going to just buy Disney packages for now on and go during the value season just so that we can stay onsite for the week.:cool1: As for our Condo, we are going to just use that to trade to other destinations.

I've stayed at all ranges of Disney resorts, none of them awful. There are things I didn't like about 2 of them, so they are on my one time only list. I enjoy having 2 sinks and a fridge in my room. I also want a hot tub to relax in after a day at the park. Some resorts don't fit those requirements. So for me to be happy with my resort, I chose not to go back to 2 of the ones I've stayed at. That's my choice, many people love both of those resorts. That's their choice. It's great that Disney has so many to choose from. When you find one that you adore, the rest pale in comparison.

We've been to WDW, and stayed at Beach Club, Board Walk, and Saratoga Springs. We love them all so much, that we became DVC members at Saratoga. I truly think the people who complain about negative experiences tend to be negative, in general, about everything in life. Sure, nothing is perfect..a loose knob here, broken lightbulb there, but really, who can be UNhappy staying at the "Happiest Place on Earth"? We just love the way Disney does it!!

Counting down to our next adventure in December :santa:

DH and I stayed at Allstar Music in 1995. We did a quick 5 day trip and our travel agent raved about this newer resort, so we tried it. She had booked our wonderful honeymoon trip 6 months prior to this, so we trusted her. The room was TINY. The bathroom unbelievably TINY. We hated the 2 double beds with a passion. We hated that there was only CS food. Would I say we had a fun trip? Yes. Have we ever stayed at any value resort since then? No. The resort didn't ruin our trip though. :goodvibes
