i know the phone are down, but i'm just wondering when we do get the chance to rebook, will we have to come out of pocket and rebook the total cost and wait for the original refund to come in?

I believe the sailing you didn't go on would be a credit towards a future cruise (any difference then refunded). If you're simply getting a refund then it's applied buck to the card that was charged. So you won't have to lay out any more money and wait for this trip to be refunded.

We were supposed to be on the 10/07 Dream sailing. Our travel agent rebooked us today and our cc was charged the full amount. However, the refund from the cancelled cruise has not come through yet. I will say that the rebook was not 20% off the current prevailing rate, so I'm thinking they used whatever the fare would have been on our original booking date? But yes, we are "out" both our original cruise cost and the rebooked cruise cost right now. Hoping the refund will come through in a day or two.

That stinks. I suppose it would not affect too many people overall though. Only those who do not have the available credit on a card to be able to do that and people who know which cruise they want to rebook to and want to do it asap (as I would want to). I hope the initial cruise is credited soon.

I was able to get through on the phone ... They cancelled the 10/8 (now 10/9) booking and rebooked the week of Thanksgiving. There was a small refund due after booking the new cruise using, and they credited my card for that. I was amazed I was able to get through.

I'm thinking that DCL may have given the 10/10 date for rebooking to allow 3 business days for refunds to go through. We rebooked for the 10/28 3 Night since it was the only Halloween cruise left that worked with our schedule. There were only verandahs left and only two on Deck 9 so we had our TA rebook us today instead of waiting. I expect the refund to show up by Monday.

The DCL reservation center was closed yesterday afternoon as it is located in the hurricane warning zone in Osceola County just east of WDW - which closed at 5PM, and was expected to remain closed until the curfews were lifted in Orange and Osceola county (Osceola just lifted theirs, but Orange is still in effect until Saturday morning.)
