has anyone been able to get an extention for credits on SW

we recently had to cancel our Las vegas trip since DH was sick--we re planning on rebooking for 11-9 however our credit expire since I used credits that we had for last yr WDW trip ( now I wish I would have hung on of the credits but you can never tell when someone is going to get sicK)

anyways I missed the deadline by 10 days!!!

All I need is about 10 day extention I email them about it but I dont think they quite understood what I was asking for

also I heard that if you cant use the credits by the deadline theyll give you vouchers there alittle less then if you could use the credit but you wouldnt loose everything

I want to rebook as soon as possible however I dont know which way to go

should I wait and see what the insurance has to say (we did have trip insurance) but Im still waiting for the dr to fill out her part then send everything in and wait

or should I rebook a new ressie and pay OOP for it and either take the vouchers if it comes to that


Im hoping insurance will pay us back for everything but then Im dealing with insurance not my favorite thing to do

the credit doesnt expire until 10-30-15 and I dont want to have to wait then long to rebook

decisions decisions


sorry if Im rambling I guess my main questions has anyone ever gotten a extention on the credit--especially since we want to rebook for just a couple of weeks

I have done it but you can't apply for an extension until the credits have actually expired. You have until 6 months after the expiration date to call for an extension. Once you call for the extension, they will mail you a voucher and you have 1 year to use it. I think it was a $75 or $100 fee to extend. The vouchers can be used to book in anyone's name.
Call their customer service line, not the regular reservation help line. It's been 2+ years since I did it so I would call and get the current rules. They may have changed.
