Has anybody used the Owner's Locker Purple Box storage?

DH found this on the internet. It is a company that rents you a 13" x 22" x 20" purple box that they store when you are home and deliver to your vacation timeshare/home when you go on vacation. It costs $99/year.

I can think of lots of things to store that I only use at WDW: ponchos, air mattress for kids, Christmas decorations, misty fans, etc... but don't know if it is worth $99/year for all of that.

It's a great ida, though.

Here's the link.

Just used it for the first time last week, at BCV. It is terrific! We left it filled with the same type of items you mention. When adding it to the price of airfare, DVC, park tickets, food... the fee is not a big deal to me - though others will feel otherwise. The service provided by John and Brian is first-rate as well.

We are using it -- and find it very helpful. It certainly simplifies packing for our Florida visits: all we need are clothes -- the rest is waiting for us in "the locker."

We left laundry detergent, toiletries, rain ponchos, basic cooking helps, and practically every "non-perishable staple" needed in the locker.

I use it, too! Mine will be waiting for me 3 weeks from tomorrow with my favorite coffee, sheets for the beds, laundry detergent, Mickey mugs, ponchos, Pal Mickey, and a lovely assortment of ears ;), among other things (really, I AM going to write it down or photograph it this time, I promise!) I'm taking along another set of sheets (king this time) to add to it. I'm pretty sure we also left a hairbrush or 2 since DDs always seem to be losing theirs when we're at WDW. I love that all my "stuff" is pulled together in one place and that I don't have to worry about the last minute crunch for the Minnie ears or ponchos. It's also nice for DDs to have a mini-ooh-I-forgot-we-had-that reunion.

They were a sponsor of the DIS but I don't see their banner anywhere. There have been a couple of threads. Try searching.

I've used the service twice this year and again in 11 days . They are fantastic. There is a thread on another of the boards asking how I pack my shampoo and stuff , the answer now is I don't. Its waiting for me in my owners locker !

We love storing stuff in it , but most of all the customer service of the company is fantastic. This company knows how to treat customers properly !!!

Totally awesome idea and service. Makes vacation more of a vacation!

We haven't used it (our first trip this year was cancelled:sad1: ) but I'm gathering all the items to leave now and loving it!! I can't wait to get it all packed and just leave it there!!

We love the concept and the service!! It is top notch. Our first DVC trip was this past June, and we took several extra bags filled with items to leave in our locker (toiletries, air mattress/pump, blankets). The locker was stuffed when we left it. I cannot wait to take our family back and think of packing ONLY clothes!!

We didn't think the price was too bad given that it provides you with one delivery per year, too.

The personal touch to the service is exceptional. Just last week I received an email asking if they could call me to collect some feedback. I talked directly with one of the owners who was extemely pleasant and interested in my opinions. We chatted for awhile, and I felt that I had some input on future ideas for the service.

I would definitely check into it!!

:thumbsup2 I love it! It's so nice to leave stuff there for the next time. Brian and John are terrific about odd requests. For example, I asked if my sister and I could share a locker. They were absolutely fine with that, so both she and I leave our stuff down there, with the understanding that it's communal use stuff unless otherwise stated. It's so nice to have the rain ponchos, the water bottle straps, sunscreen, detergent...already there.

You can fit a lot into a locker and it'll be at your resort there when you arrive. Odds are, it'll get back to storage before you get home from FL. I say go for it. You won't regret the small investment that allows you to pack only clothes from here on out. I do so love not having to cram a jillion sample-size items into one quart-size baggie for the airport screening!

We also have one and just love it!

On each subsequent trip I fine tune the contents a bit. Last time, I bought a couple real wine glasses and packed those in there, my big bottle of gin stays in FLA, and DH and I each leave a pair of sneakers (It takes alot of room to pack 2 pairs, plus other shoes) Add to that shampoo and some toiletries, ponchos, and LOTS of other stuff. They really hold quite a bit. Hope to start leaving the air mattress, too. We got our original locker last November, and have had it delivered on two subsequent trips - last Feb and last April. Service has been wonderful!

I don't think they do, yet, but they're still refining their system and have talked about figuring out how to store bigger stuff like golf clubs, bikes and the like. You might want to contact them direct to ask the status of that idea.

I'm not sure about that. A lot of people say they keep air mattresses of some sort in theirs. I don't know how big an aerobed is, but if you contact the guys at Owners Locker direct, or go on their web site, they can tell you.

We have a full size Aerobed in its duffel-style bag at home. We have not used it at WDW, but I know from using the locker that it would fit with no problem. There would still be some room left over. Count me among the Owners Locker Fanatical Fans Club. I will never be without this service. It adds a great deal to my vacation enjoyment by making packing and unpacking so much easier. It also lets me have things at WDW that I would probably try to do without if I had to keep hauling them back and forth or repurchasing them. I know that lots of new storage options are in the works, so keep checking the website or call. This service just keeps getting better and more comprehensive.

Reporting in as a member of Owners Locker fan club! We took a suitcase of stuff with us in April that we left in the locker along with supplies we purchased at Walmart when we got to Florida. The locker holds a LOT of stuff. More than I expected.

Hey disneynutx,
We're still working with The DIS and hope to for a very long time!!
Our in initial advertising/ sponsorship arrangement has run its course and we're currently working on new plans with the owners of The DIS.
John

Another Owner's Locker convert here! It's amazing how much stuff will fit into the locker and it's really nice not to have to deal with liquids(toiletries, laundry detergent, etc) in luggage at the airport. I'm looking forward to a wonderful visit with my locker next month!
