we're heading to WDW April 6-16 and I was sort of interested in trying Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville since I'm a Parrothead. But we have four kids ages 4-8 and I'm wondering whether this is more a crazy bar filled with college spring breakers or what. Anybody know?

I've only been inside for lunch, and it was quite quiet. The live music evenings seem distinctly livelier (standing room only, it looked like from the outside!) but it didn't necessarily look like a college crowd (it's probably too expensive for them!). Why not visit during the day and try to get some feedback from the staff of what the crowd is like at night? (PS: I had a very good lunch and the Margarita 'volcano' is quite amazing to see!).

Visit Walt Disney World and "Remember the Magic"!

Last September dh and I grabbed a quick midafternooon drink in the bar. The atmosphere was great and so was the Jimmy Buffett music. We saw many families eating in the diningroom. The restaurant was laid back and quiet during the day.

I agree with all these comments. I think that of all the CityWalk restaurant/nightclubs this one is the most kid-friendly.

If you go, make sure to hang around long enough to see the volcano "explode" with bubbling green margarita mix that flows down into a giant mixer. Kids love it!

Wow, Can someone tell me where Margaritaville is located? Is it in Orlanda? My husband loves Jimmy Buffett and it would be a nice surprise to eat there. Thanks

Alynn,
It is located at Universal's City Walk, a complex of restaurants, clubs, shops, etc outside the gates of the Studios & IOA. It is one of the many themed restaurants there. If your husband is a Buffet fan, I think he will enjoy it. They continously play Jimmy Buffet videos, music, and clips on the TVs. There is also a gift shop where you can buy loads of Buffet & Margaritaville souviners.

I've been there 2 years in a row for dinner with our son. He is now 3 years old and we have a baby and we are definitely going back this year!

We usually do dinner around 6:00p.m. Never had a problem with anything. Food and service is great and the atmosphere just as great! Alot of families with kids. I'm sure the later it gets, the more crazy, but, we're out of there by then!

Have fun! The best Margarita's around!!!

We ate dinner there in Dec. The food was great and the atmosphere was fun (the volcano is a riot). There were a lot of families there.
