Has anybody ever missed thier cruise ?

We also fly from Gatwick, and ALWAYS arrive the day before the cruise - and stay overnight at the Hyatt in Orlando airport. It works brilliantly! No onward journey after a long flight - and the Disney Bus takes us/luggage straight to the Port the next morning! If you have booked your flights independently - and miss the ship - then bad luck! Believe me, it DOES happen. We saw people arriving at the airport when we were waiting to fly home to UK, and NO WAY would they have got to the Port for a 5pm departure.Maybe the ship waiting for them - being Disney booked passengers? We also witnessed people missing their ship at a Caribbean Island! Mmmm - would rather be marooned in the Caribbean than Orlando airport!haha.Have a wonderful time. Nat:Pinkbounc

As the author of "our horror story" I can attest to flying in early. I can also attest to the fact that even if you have insurance that is no gurantee that all will go smoothly. It is now 5+ weeks since our horror story and we are still fighting with Princess on getting any money back or at least a 100% voucher on a replacement cruise but they just don't care.. Fly in early or make sure you have a direct flight that gets you to the port with hours to spare...smjj

jgalecpa, We spent the night on the highway near Atlanta in that storm! We were returning from visiting friends in Boca for Spring Break. My DS was only 3 monthes old, it was a LONG, COLD night and a very long drive the rest of the way home. One of the reasons I do not like to drive on vacation.

In my younger days, I was on a cruise with a girl friend, and she met someone in port. We missed the last tender and had to be taken out to the ship on the new friend's boat. I must say it was an adventure!:D

Yes we missed our cruise. We were notified the day after we were in Florida that we could not board the ship??????????

They gave us two days notice.

Hi there Chucklechops

I've never written a trip report before, so give me a few days (as we're away for the weekend) and I'll stick it in the UK community board - just for you.

I've never missed a cruise, thank goodness.........however.....

When we were on the Magic in Jan, someone didn't get back on at St. Thomas......actually, a couple, AND they had 2 kids in the clubs......

We never heard what happened to the couple OR their kids, but we waited and waited and finally left them! They kept announcing their names over the intercom to please check in....they thought somehow they were missed getting back aboard....

I felt sorry for the kids and the staff.....and wondered how aften that happens....
