has anybody driven a 7 seater dodge?

Hi I'm looking at a 7 seater dodge or like to.rent from alamo and wondering if anybody has driven one,and how difficult and big it was to drive?

The biggest I've driven is a Picasso xsara exclusive.

There is 3 adults and 3 children in our party, however my mum will only join us half of the time at the parks due to being 81,and has said if we change parks to a water park mid day she will get the bus back to Ssr
However she would join us on Walmart trips as she loves the place.lol

Also wondering about the sat navigation they seem really high for a rental price?
What have you guys done.
Are they cheaper to buy at Walmart? And just bring it back with us.

We always have the 7 Seater dodge grand caravan, for luxury and space. we love it. you will be fine with the size. we take 4 large suitcases which all fit in boot.
we are family of 3 adults 1 child. Some models you can collapse the seats too making more space. We have never had the sat nav, map in the car and then pick up more as you go.
Have you had a car before or is it your first time.?

I've driven a 5 seater Dodge and we had a 7 seater Jeep for two years. They're both bigger than a Picasso but easy to drive, they do feel heavy though on corners. However the visibility is great, no real blind spots to speak of and they don't feel as big as they are. Plus the roads over there are made for bigger vehicles so I don't think you'll struggle.

I wouldn't have a problem with it and I currently drive a teeny seat leon!

I've driven pretty much every size vehicle over the years. We used to travel with 8 of us so I had a a 9 seater van one year. It's not a big deal, just remember that you have a little extra length and allow for it. As for Sat Nav, I wouldn't hire one with the car place, it'd be cheaper to buy one, but unless you're planning on going off the beaten track, you probably won't need it. Everything is well sign posted.

Thanks all, the 7 seater is only £25 more then the suv I was looking at so I'll go with that,
At least then I don't have to worry about leaving mum behind if we want to go anywhere

Two years ago we added the US maps to our Tom Tom. They were on sale at the time and only cost us £20 plus one free update which I'll do before I go this year.

We bought the US Tom tom app for the iPhone. Works very well and wasn't expensive.

Just to point out that 99 percent of Hired cars are Automatic

It would be hard to find a Gear Shift type .

Also there is NO pull up Hand Brake ( Or Button type ) as in European cars

We've driven cars of this size - both DW and I - every time we have gone. We even had a Hummer once. They are very easy to drive, and once you know your way around the controls you will be fine.
Your biggest concern should be whether you will fit all your luggage in at the airport - especially if you all have a suitcase each.

I'm not worried about fitting luggage in as I'm not renting from the airport due to dh not flying with us now,
We will get a taxi to universal Rpr and then when hubby arrive we will collect the car,
My mum has said she will get a taxi to Ssr when we change resorts.

Are you the one who's hubby works overseas in the forces? Or have I misunderstood? If so he will be fine driving a 7 seater over in the US. Easier to drive than a landrover - and they drive in the wrong side too ;-)
