This year the IAAPA(International Assoc. of Theme parks) convention that was in Orlando this past week??? if so how was it, did you try out any of the new rides/foods there and any other tid bits of info you mayhave to offer us???

I just got home last night from the IAAPA show. I work at a waterpark in Georgia. Some of the new technology available is really cool. I didn't have time to ride the rides as I had to talk to the waterpark vendors. This show is amazing. For those of you familiar with the Orange County Convention Center, this show takes up the entire convention center. The show will be in Orlando for the next two years.

I can't really remember all that was there. I sampled pizza, hot dogs, fried food from a machine that uses hot air not grease to fry, fruit sorbet (yummy), chicken on a stick (yummy), and shaved ice.

There were quite a few 4D movie theaters and virtual reality exhibits.

If you have specific questions, let me know. I'll try to remember what was there.

Wow... sounds a LITTLE more fun than a veterinary conference. Can I tag along next year? :teeth:

Eeyore's Buddy Bear, i have no direct questions as i have never been to one but was wondering if anybody has been their and what thoughts they had. Any new rides we may see in the future/new foods for the parks etc. So far their has been little news on coaster sites and i only saw 1 article in the orlando sentinel that didnt give much info. It is a event i would love to go to!!! Also did disney have any presence at the show?????

I didn't see anything regarding the new attractions at WDW. Several companies mentioned providing rides or equipment for Disney. In fact, the company that installed the waterslides at my park installed the slides at Blizzard Beach.

I saw quite a few Disney employees at the show but was unable to speak with them.

I really did not see any ride technology that I had not already read about on coaster/theme park sites. I'll see what additional information I can find. Hope to post more info soon.
