Has anybody been to a WWE event? Need seating advice

My adult DGD is a huge WWE fan and I want to surprise her with tickets. The event will be in a basketball fieldhouse and there are floor seats available. If the stage is raised, how far back should I get tickets so she can see it all? Would the stands be better or the floor? The floor tickets are more pricey but that doesn't necessarily mean they are better tickets.

FYI, I'm not going to pay for the VIP/on camera tickets.

People that sit in the floor area tend to stand up a lot which can block people's views. Some people don't seem to mind but others do. I think the stands tend to be better depending on the venue.

I have a wrestling fan in my family too. :)

We actually went to Monday Night Raw back in October when it was at Golden One Center (Sacramento Kings arena).

We got seats in one of the higher bleacher areas but had a great view of the ring. We were in the front row of our section so no one to block out view, but with the way each row is raised, I don't think it would have been an issue.634187

Using this picture, looking for seats in the first row above the tunnel (where "RAW" is on the left) I think would be good seats. You might be able to even bring some small binoculars or just look up at the big screen. I don't *think* floor seats would be very good unless you're within the first 2-3 rows. JMO, I've never been to a WWE event.

Sit farther back. Everyone knows it’s fake but if you sit close up you can see everything like they are not hitting the other person. You see how really fake it is. I use to watch it a lot now just once in a while. My wife use to watch it than we went to a wwf event. Back when it was wwf. Had great seats wife hasn’t watch it again. She knew it was fake but seeing it up close is a real turn off.

Yep, about 35 years ago I sat up close (Hulk Hogan era). You could see the wrestler "miss" hitting the other guy but yet he went flying out of the ring or was writhing in pain.

I lost whatever kitsch interest I had in it years ago.

I went to a PPV years ago and sat about 10 rows back on the floor. It wasn't a great view. It was impossible to see anything that happened on the floor or the walkway to the ring. I think a few rows up in the stands with good views of the screens would be better and probably cheaper.

Try to get a seat where you can see the entrance ramp / Titan Tron. Seeing the entrances is part of the experience. Especially when you get the surprise run outs / interference.

Theyre not asking if it's real or fake. We didnt need that added into the conversation. Theyre asking what the best seats were. 90% of television nowadays is scripted but nobody goes around going "lol you know its fake right".

I gave them my opinion and said sit farther away. It’s just my opinion just like the other comments they can take it or leave it.

It's like Cirque du Soleil shows. The most expensive seats are not the best ones, but they are the highest priced. Mid-priced are generally the best, a bit farther up. As for wrestling, yes, you would see the fakeness when sitting close.

I've been to Wrestlemania, SummerSlam and a couple other shows. The best seats are the first row of the second deck. Close enough to see what is going on but far enough away to see everything, ideally opposite the entrance ramp.

Thanks, everyone! Great advice! I'll admit that I'm not a fan and the fake part is hilarious to me but I'll be a team player for my DGD. We got seats in the front row of a great section. We think we figured out the entrance ramp but they should be in a great spot to see everything if we are wrong. Without your advice, I would have probably gone for floor seats and regretted it.

She will love it!

Sounds like you did a great job picking a seat. I just wanted to throw in some quick advice about when you actually go as someone who has taken quite a few non-fans to wrestling events over the years…

Don’t even think about whether it’s fake or not when you are there. Let yourself get immersed in it like you would a play or musical. Watch how much DGD is into it and enjoy it with her.

Based on your posts it sounds like you have a good attitude anyway but please don’t go in resenting the fact that you are there. It’s okay for non fans to enjoy live wrestling. I’ve seen it a bunch of times.

Thanks for the encouragement! DGD is special needs and sometimes childlike so she sees it as real. I'm truly looking forward to seeing it thru her eyes and think it will be a fun evening. She accepts the stories as real and often recites them to us. We are doing everything we can to make this a great evening for her. We were even able to get seats on an aisle so she won't feel closed in. She is sooooo excited and just watching her experience it!

One more thing I will mention is my DS is very sensitive to loud noises and the pyrotechnics during the entrances are very loud. Even with noise reducing ear muffs, the noise was uncomfortable for him at times. Next show we go to, we plan on doing inner ear plugs as well as the ear muffs.

I don't know if that's a concern for your DGD, but I figured I'd pass that along just in case.

Pretty sure the main thing is being ready to rumble.;)
