Hi, looking into dine with an imagineer or dine with an animal specialist!! Anyone done it. Look interesting!! :goodvibesTY

We are doing the Imagineer dinner in June.

We may try to do the Sanaa lunch - it depends on whether or not we can get in at the last minute.

We did the Imagineer lunch back in 2006 - it was a very nice experience.

I did the Dine with an Imagineer at DHS at The Brown Derby about 2 years ago. I thought it was worth the money. We had a great 3 course lunch and it was in the private dining room. It lasted about 2 1/2 hours. The Imagineers change (depending on who is available) with each lunch. Ours was very personable and got our group of 12 people asking lots of questions. I left with some very nice momentos. I would do it again without hesitation.

Can someone tell me a bit more about this. I've never heard of it.

What is it?
Where?
How much?
Etc...

DH and I did it last September. Flying Fish at the Boardwalk. When we did it, it was on Tuesday night, roughly three times a month. Table was limited to 10 attendees max. It was amazing. There were six of us, and our imagineer was wonderful. We wanted to do it again in March, but the week that we were at WDW was the only week that month that the dinner was not being offered. You can get information from Disney Dining, or directly from the Flying Fish.

They have lunch at BD and dinner at FF.. DS17 is doing this in Sept b/c he wants to join the disney college program after he graduates next yr..

My daughter requested only 1 dining reservation this year, and the Dining with the Imagineer was it.

I too am looking to hear more about it. If the OP goes before November, please let us know how it went! :)

I have read that you cannot reserve it until 60 days out. Has that been the case for others?

I am doing it in Sept at the BD and was able to schedule mine at 180 days and you can use the dining plan for this too. It is 2 TS credits but the BD is anyway. I'm excited.

You are not allowed to use DDP credits for this meal. The website is wrong. You have to pay OOP for this experience only. I have been trying to get into this but the spots have been filled up for the week that I will be there in Sept.

We did the lunch with an Imagineer at the Brown Derby last October during our honeymoon. It was wonderful!

It was $60.99/person for lunch, which was 4 courses that included their famous cobb salad, soup and your choice of entree & dessert. It's similar to a prixe fixe menu in that your choices are limited.

We checked in about 15 minutes early and we were given souvenier plastic name tags and asked to wait in the lobby. At 11:30 they gave us a quick tour of the restaurant and led us back to the private Bamboo Room. Once there, we met the Imagineer (he was a Project manager working on One Man's Dream, which was in the process of being renovated at the time). Once we sat down, we were introduced to the Imagineer and they took a group picture of everyone at the table, then a photo of each group (DH & myself, a father & daughter, and a group of 4 ladies - there is a maximum of 8 guests total at the lunch). We had our own wait staff assigned to our room and they came around to take our orders for the entrees & desserts. Once that was done the Imagineer told us about himself, his history with the company, etc. and it all went from there. There were a few awkward silences in the beginning, but as the meal went on, the conversation became more natural and everyone was engaged in asking questions and telling their own stories.

The food was good, and the service was excellent. At the end of the meal, we were each given a present from the Imagineer to remember the event and he signed each gift (I don't want to give it away in case anyone reading is hoping for a surprise). We were also each given a personalized menu that included what we had chosen for our meals, and the group & personal photos that were taken at the beginning of the meal were printed on the menu.

We felt like this was a great value and will definitely book this again in the future.

I hope that helps. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer. :goodvibes

Grrr....today is my 180+10 day (well, really 179 due to two reservations). Went to reserve the Dine with an Imagineer, and it's not in the schedule online. Called and was told to try again later since its not on the schedule yet. Grrr...

IPO booked our dinner for us, but they definitely booked it more than 60 days out. There was some confusion regarding lunch vs. dinner and venue etc. but they did finally book us for the dinner at Flying Fish. :)

Web page only has it listed at the Brown derby for lunch. been that way for a while and thus limits availability. I can't it any of the dates I've tried in August.

Are they still offerring the FF dinner option? Online only has BD times listed. And they are all booked for our upcoming trips. Would rather do FF anyway. Not big BD fans here.

No DDP for either experience (lunch or dinner with Imagineer, lunch with animal specialists). The website is confusing because they make it look like DDP is accepted. I saw one person on the boards who was allowed to pay with DDP but am not sure why they allowed it.
