Has any one been to the Mardi Gras Parade?

Has anyone been to the Mardi Gras Parade? Is there a particular place to watch it that is better than others? We have a 10 and 6 year old. Is it too crazy for kids? Thanks in advance!

I have a 10 and 6 year olds and they just loved the parade. It is so much fun for them to catch the beads. They have a designated area for the kids to watch the parade so that they won't get trampled by the adults.
