Has a singer or celebrity dying ever affected you that much?

Absolutely. Freddie Mercury's death hit me very hard. I grew up loving Queen and loving Freddie's voice. I still love to listen to him today. I just wish I had gotten the chance to see them live in concert.

I was also affected when (Ozzy guitarist) Randy Rhoads died. I was in junior high and a REALLY big Ozzy fan. I wanted to see them in concert so bad and my mom wouldn't let me go. Randy died just a few weeks after that concert. Of course, by now I've seen Ozzy several times, but I really wish I could have seen Randy. :(

Princess Diana. I remember watching her wedding...and the coverage of the funeral.

Sad to say but very true...when Jerry Garcia died it DID change my life, my life style and the way I looked at things....I really learned a great deal from it all. I sure do miss him after all these years and always will. I am sad to hear of the passing of MG , hope you feel better soon.

John Lennon's death bothered me a lot. He seemed to really be happy and to have his artistic act together.

I was also bothered by Princess Diana's and George Burns' deaths. Princess Diana mainly because of how it seemed like she was literally hounded to death and George Burns because he seemed like such a sweetheart of a man.

Awww yeah, John Candy's death bothered me too. I always thought he was such a cool guy.

Robert Urick's death bothered me too. :( He seemed like such a nice, gentle guy. :(

JFK's death was absolutely shocking! Same with Princess Diana's. Very, very sad.

When I learned that Princess Diana had died, it seemed impossible - as though it couldn't happen to her.

Jerry Garcia's death STILL gets to me...... every summer, I feel something is missing........ even though I couldnt go on tour even if I wanted too...... I still feel the draw every summer.......

John Lennon also bummed me out. So sudden and so harsh.

Dudley Moore....... It was so sad to see him in his last few public appearences....... I always had a bit of a crush on him.

As seen in my signature (The goat with the number 3 on it's side), when the Greatest Stockcar driver that ever lived" passed away (Dale Earnhardt in the #3 Goodwrench Chevrolet) my world was rocked. I can say that I shed more than a few tears in the aftermath. Racing has never been the same without the Intimidator flying around the track!

I was crushed when Michael Cuccione died about 2 years ago - he was on MTV's 2gether and I had always thought he seemed like a sweet kid. I was amazed at how he had beat cancer, and when he got sick again and then died at the age of 15 I was just crushed. It was really rough on me - I know how you feel, Mskanga. :(

I still think that it's sad that Karen Carpenter died so young. What a voice.

Princess Diana was a terrible shock. When the anniversary of her death comes around, I still get terribly sad.

JFK Jr was bad too, to me he was like a male, American version of Diana in a way.

Stevie Ray Vaughan- guitarist, in 1990. I love his music. It seemed he was on the right track with his career, and his life when he got killed. So unfair. I never got to see him play live.

Rick Nelson - He died in a plane crash on NYE. I was so sad I just wanted to go to bed. My DH wasn't happy with me that I didn't want to stay up and celebrate. We saw him in concert a few times and I really liked him.

Princess Diana - Devastating! It just couldn't happen to her. So sad for her sons.

I'm with BigDude. Dale Earnhardt's death really affected me. I cried for days over that.

I think the two that hit me the hardest were Princess Diana and Dale Earnhardt.

Diana because I was such a fan of hers and also because my mother was in the hospital at the same time dying of cancer. I had just finished reading the book The Royals and it really hit me hard.

I think Dale's death hit the hardest. In our family we don't do Super Bowl parties - we do Daytona 500 parties. It went from lots of cheering and screaming when Michael Waltrip won his first race to disbelief when we heard the news of Dale. That was the year we were finally going to see Dale race in person at the new Joliet Speedway, but it wasn't meant to be.

Aaliyah's death was really devastating:( She was truely one of God's Angels. Not only was she beautiful and talented, she was also a great role model for young girls her age. Everytime I hear one of her songs I see her mom breaking down in tears while releasing the 22 doves that represented her daughther's life.

I was shocked at Princess Dianas death. Dh and I were celebrating our Anniv downtown Chicago at the time. We had just come in from Benihana(i hope i spelled it right) when the clerk at the Westin hotel told us. I didn't want to believe it until I turned to cnn and saw the accident:(

Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes' death hit me the hardest, since it was so sudden. She died in Honduras, a country she loved, where she'd adopted a little girl whose mother was not able to care for her. She'd really turned her life around when the tragedy struck. :(

I guess I'm embarrassed to say I have absolutely no idea who that is. (was)

I'll second Aaliyah and River Phoenix.I'll be honest but I had never heard of River Phoenix untill I became a fan of his brother Joaquin Phoeinx

Maurice died?:(

When Lucille Ball died, I cried for several days afterwards.:( I still get sad about her passing.:(
