On our way back home from WDW, we stopped in Kansas City for the night, I asked for a wake-up call at 9:30 am so we could take advantage of the free breakfast and they forgot! They did not have an automated system - it was written down on a roster. I mentioned it to the lady but told her it was fine. I wonder what would have happened if we had missed a flight due to it? Has this ever happened to anyone?

I can say that I have never had this happen but it surely must take place in some regular fashion. No one is perfect and people make mistakes. Good thing it was not a business trip with a very important meeting to attend or interview to go to .

I always set the alarm at a hotel, and never rely on wake up calls

several years ago we were at Dixie Landings. we had two rooms. I prgrammed the phone is each room for a wakeup call. one phone got the wakeup call, the other didn't. I didn't complain, because we got up when we got the first wakeup call. but the kids were a bit disappointed not to hear Mickey that morning.

I have never had a hotel miss a wake up call, but I once had a town car driver call and wake us up at 5AM. We were supposed to be picked up at 5 PM.

Yes. When I travelel alot it happened frequently. You always need to have a backup plan if it is really important. Especially, if you are in another country jet lagged, etc.

If you miss your flight it is your tough luck. The hotel will not admit to any responsibility, but will happily offer you another night

This happened to me on vacation a couple weeks ago. I got all checked in and told them I would like a wake up call at 6:15. Never got it. :(

I use alarm, no wake up calls. Or just wake up with body clock about 6 AM.

Yes. It happened to Chris on a business trip to DC. Luckily he didn't sleep too late.

<font color=navy>Happened to me a couple of months ago. Good thing I also set the alarm ... just in case.

We haven't had a missed one yet but we did have one that was 15 min late LOL.

Well, since I am so terrible at waking up in the morning, I always ask for two wake up calls, 15 minutes apart :p
Works for me ::yes::

I have had hotels not make the wakeup call, and I've received the calls at the wrong time.

Now I always ask for a wake up call, AND set my travel alarm. No problems now that I always have a backup plan.

Yes, we also had a hotel forget to give us a wake up call, but we always set the alarm clock as a back-up:D

Never missed a wake up call; use an alarm clock for back up. Once had the wake up call, fell back to sleep, alarm went off, rest for 5 minutes, fell asleep. Missed a tour that we had boooked that day.. My fault.

My dh travels frequently and has had MANY forgotten wake up calls. The first was a very early one and he almost missed his flight back home, it was like a 6 am flight. But thankfully, it was before 9/11 and he made it only a few minutes before the plane took off (now they won't let you on if you aren't there at least 30 min before take off). He uses the alarm clock as back up now, but it rarely wakes him up. He's much better at waking himself up now too.

This morning I was in a neighboring town hosting a business meeting - one of the participants staying in the hotel didn't show up for the meeting - I rang him from the front desk and asked him if he was going to attend the 10:00 meeting. He asked what time it was - and I told him 10:15 am - said he didn't get his wake up call

I always take my alarm clock from home with me, never done a wake up call.
