Anybody else see the story this morning about the woman who lied about being abducted and was then arrested in Disney World?

My first thought was, It's probably a Disney obsessed Dis Board member who just had to get to their "happy place" when times got tough. This is Budget Board related because they mentioned financial pressures as the possible catalyst.

Yeah, it's on our local news. Very weird case. She also had 2 other, younger, children and was married to the father of the 2 younger children. They were saying on the news that I believe she was fired from her job and that they were looking into if she embezzled money.

The days leading to her "trip" she withdrew $12k. Don't think she planned on coming back.

My CSI - Law & Order brain thinks she was going to get busted for embezzling and wanted to take her dd to Disney before going away for a very long time.

The news also mentioned possible domestic issues, but they seem to be mentioning everything, sort of grasping for straws when they don't really know what is going on.

At least she did it is style, she was arrested at the GF!

This just makes me sick! I saw that Amber alert on TV and told DH how disgusted I was that carjackers would take the little girl. I even had trouble sleeping thinking about that poor little girl. Now I still feel bad for the kid. Nutso mom arrested at Disney.

Can you imagine coming in from a great Disney Day and asking your kids isn't this the happiest place on earth kids. Then open the doors to the GF and seeing that scene. Sad

I'm betting it was one of the million-plus who visit here -- my take on it is that some people will do nearly anything to go there...

Probabyl wouldnt stay at GF though... and I would tell everyone I saw that I was going to WDW

I live right down the street from where the car jacking had supposedly taken place so I was getting all worried that it could happen to me or my sister or my neighbor.

Now that I find out she was in Disney...I kind of hope it happens to me!!!

With 12 thousand, if she had waited for FD & booked at the POP, she could have stayed at least 3 weeks & maybe up to 5, if she could learn to budget better like us!!!

Yep- Sounds like an obsessed Disser... I can just imagine the thread...

"I just needed to stay at the GF once before my whole life crashed down around me. My DD was a perfect age and we deserved some magical memories."

Seriously- I'm sorry if anyone's offended by jokes about an obviously serious situation but I swear, I've read stories almost this bizarre on here.
