Has a co-worker ever shared TMI with you

I have a quiet darkened corner office with a big comfy chair in front of my desk. I think I've heard MORE than a psychiatrist hears in a year.

I have one co worker that bugs me so much I've gotten my employees to call me when they see her enter my office ... "sorry, can't talk, conference call"...

I think the TMI part here is having a wife who is capable of working and isn't, and then complaining about one's financial situation.

Maybe not TMI per se, but something annoying that I wouldn't want to know about my co-worker.

This. I personally wouldn't call it TMI, because to me that means information that's uncomfortable to hear, not just annoying. But I still wouldn't want to hear this guy griping about a situation that they apparently jumped into headfirst.

I don't consider that TMI... stupidity, yes, but TMI, no. I have no sympathy for someone in their situation, and would have a hard time keeping my mouth shut when he complained.

All of the time, and I hate it. To me, TMI is anything I don't need to know about to get the job done and will make job life awkward.

-Our boss has affairs? TMI
-You hate so-and-so? TMI
-Your latest drama of the hour? TMI

All of these things bring down productivity, IMO. Friendly chat is fine and even desirable but anything above that should be saved for the pub.

You and I must have different definitions of TMI.

See, to me, TMI means over-sharing about your sex life, or telling me about your colon health and flatulence issues, or how your hubby likes you to call him Harry Potter just for fun. THAT is TMI.

OMG - I had just moved back to the San Francisco area after being at a very, very conservative firm in Dallas. My co-worker would start Monday am conversations by describing her weekend - first words were usually "first we took all our clothes off". The worst part was that I also had to work and travel with her partner. I knew way too much about him. And had seen too much too as pictures were often provided. You can only turn away so quickly.
