Harvey World Expo

Hello all,
I know a lot of people talk about the great deals they get with the Flight Centre expos but just wondering if anyone has any luck with other expos. I was up north on holidays when my Flight Centre had their expo but this Saturday my local Harvey World is having an expo. I'm fairly busy with pre-existing plans but am wondering if it is worth checking them out?

Ohh I'd love to know if it's worth going to for a deal on cheaper flights, anything close to $1600 would be great much better then $2055 that VA is currently for our dates.

Also does anyone know if they book flights through VA? The flights on their website are Thai and Qantas so just want to know for sure

We were suppose to get a quote from Flight Centre last week and were to SUPPOSE to be booked before the expo, so we didn't plan on going to the expo...still no answer from the TA after a week and a half so I'm going to Harvey World and Escape Travel tomorrow to see if anyone there gets together a quote quicker!

Very frustrated now, I should have just told the girls we were going to the expo no matter what because we missed out on some good deals

Oh frangipanisam, that is so frustrating. Hoping that a better deal is just around the corner for you. My folks will be heading into HWT on Sat to see if there are any deals Melb- LAX so they can join us in WDW in Oct.

Just saw a preview of some of the offers for the HWT Expo.

This one looks interesting.

$200 Off Per Person on Qantas International Return Fares to the Americas

For our October dates, the QF website is showing Melb - LAX return @ $2250. Minus $200 that is still $2050, which is still pricey. The Flight Centre Expo had Qantas fares in Oct for $1390. Hope that HWT has some special fare prices in addition to the $200 off. Otherwise I think we'll still wait it out for better deal. $2000 return is still expensive.

Hopefully they do if not we'll wait, everyone thats done the US advises us (aside from TA's) to wait for a good deal to come along and set a deadline so we don't miss out on the flights we want. As long as we're booked by like July/Aug I'll take the chance and wait I think

I was hoping to get some cheap VAustralia flights but on their sneak preview they don't mention them, only Qantas. And the dates I looked up online VAustralia still comes out cheaper than that Qantas even with the $200 off. Might stop by if I get a chance otherwise will just keep an eye out and hope there is another sale at some point, I'm sure there will be.

Good luck to you too! I went in today and they still didn't know all the deals they would be offering but that VA should be included. You can ring them in the morning to find out the deals and then book over the phone and pay within 3 days Great considering I'm at work 9-6 tomorrow

The Qantas deal is crap! I'd rather pay full price VA then get them through Qantas everyone I speak to recommededs VA, the TA today even said its more perky because the flight attendents haven't been working there for 50 years and actually still enjoy their jobs plus the planes are newer

Well I did end up going into the store. They offered me only $100 off Qantas, I didn't take it. And also worked out a plan with VAustralia at different dates then what I had been watching online (the dates still show available online but they said they couldn't get them, it's not like I'm going soon though) and it worked out more expensive plus they said they add $100 booking fee (which they didn't do last time I booked with them!).

I also asked about accomodations and they said they couldn't get the deals I find online but said the website they use is www.octopustravel.com so if I find anything there they can book it for me.

So I didn't book anything today. Think I'll either go Flight Centre (who my mother has just booked a NZ trip through at a great price) or book it all myself...can't be that hard right!?! lol

Yeah - my family went to HWT today, and the Qantas price they had for the dates we are travelling were actually more expensive than the Qantas website (before the $200 off) So no deal.

We are travelling with my parents and my brother and sister in law. We have frequent flyer flights booked, but the rest of them need to pay for their flights. They should have bought them at the Flight Centre expo last week - $1390!

Oh well. The prices will surely have to come down.
