Forgive me if this has been asked before..... Does anyone know when the new Harry Potter ride is going to open???

According to the info about half way down the page there might be a 'soft opening in December '09.

Has anyone heard anything?

What does a soft opening entail, would the rides be open or would it just be the HP area of the park?

The missus is quite exited about it and hasn't even read a HP book or seen a movie

For new attractions, soft openings are when the theme park opens the attraction for a few hours and lets people explore or ride the attraction if they happen to be there at the time. There is usually no schedule for soft openings...sometimes it's open and sometimes it's not.

Universal hasn't released anything officially yet and there is still a lot of work to do before it's anywhere near finished so December of this year might be a little ambitious. Only time will tell.

It's not just a ride, it's going to be an entire themed land with lots of different activities.

They sure do have alot of work to do.I thinking the 4'th of July cause of more crowds.But they can open it in the slowest part of the year and it will be packed...

It amazes me that Universal is able to still keep the big Harry Potter ride within Hogwarts a secret. We all know it has something to do with a Kuka robotic arm ride vehicle, but pretty much nothing is known beyond that.
