Okay, I've read here that the new Harry Potter area is going in IOA's Lost Continent area. Where, exactly? Are some attractions being removed?:confused3

There is an area between Flying Unicorn and Jurassic Park that is empty, they are also taking a section of the Employee parking lot, and I have heard that Sindbad is going away, as well as that whole area upto Poseidon....Poseidon and Mythos will be Lost Continent. Nothing official yet though.

seems kinda silly to have TWO things in LC :confused3

Yeah, but they say that a "fifth island" will be added....not that one will be taken away. I've heard so many things, none of them make sense.

From where I see it, losing LC is losing nothing substantial. I don't think it ever worked the way the other islands do. It never seemed to have that much tieing it together. I'd be fine of the scrapped the LC and just retheme DD to fit HP.:rolleyes1

I wouldn't mind seeing Sinbad go, I thought that was the lamest show there, but I love the rest of the LC, hope they keep the rest.

I just got back and was scoping out the area, it would make a lot of sense to start the HP section around the Sinbad area, those 2 themes should blend really well together, hope they don't take out the Mythos/Posieden/Enchanted Oak section though, if they keep that I will be happy.

Actually, no. They are splitting its soul and making horcruxes.

When Harry Potter tried to make a theme park with the blood of the Lost Continent, he actually tied his soul to the LC's, making the LC one of Harry's Horicruxes. Now, because LC sacrificed itself for Posiedon, when Harry kills Poseidon, a piece of his self will die.....and we will never have that Potter attraction......so I guess they better leave it alone:wizard:

:rotfl2: Oh mercy! It's all getting so complicated!

Now that makes perfect sense.

Anybody have any updates on how/where HP will fit into the LC? The latest I've heard was that it will probably start around Sinbad leaving most of LC intact all but maybe some of the shops and a few things.

Does anyone know if Poiseidens Fury is going to be converted to HP or will it stay as is?

I just hope they don't get rid of the statue, Mythos and the Enchanted Oak.

I'm really curious when construction is likely to begin. If I'm in town next January, I hope the Dragons aren't down as part of the project.

I don't think anyone knows anymore than we we estimated at the release. It is all still conjecture on our part.

My guess here is that things will start happening after this summer season (Ie, late august when the 10PM closing stop). I wouldn't be surprised if they started closing things, from the Owl View picture, it looks like they will be creating new foot traffic patterns through that part of the park.

And to do what you can see there, i don't see how they could without razing the enhanted oak restaurant, which--if true-- will probably happen sooner rather than later. Anyone going in August before the summer season is over, take plenty of pictures if you want to have an idea how the old Lost Continent looked.
