So, I was watching the new trailer and have a question for all of you experts...

http://harrypotter.warnerbros.com/harrypotterandthehalf-bloodprince/

On the right had side, click on main trailer... Toward the end, it looks like the Burrow is being circled by fire and then the burrow itself is on fire, and the Weasley's are all outside of the ring of fire watching it. Is that something that was added for the movie, or is it in the books somewhere? I don't remember reading anything like that, because in the 7th book they need the burrow intact for Bill and Fleur's wedding. And later Ron is supposed to be hidden away at the house with spattergoit (or whatever the disease is the fake the deatheaters with)

Any ideas what that scene represents?

It does look like the Burrow, but no, that's not in the book that I remember. A couple of the scenes with the fire are Hagrid's hut, but the two you pointed out I'm stumped on.

I believe they added that scene. It's not in the book. I thought I read somewhere that they used it to represent the mounting terror that the magic community was feeling. I would have to guess that the burrow doesn't burn in the end. I can't wait for this movie to come out!

I know what you mean, just seeing the trailer is so exciting. That trailer is the best one so far. I went to see Ghosts of Girlfriends past and saw this trailer, I say it was worth the price of admission just to see the trailer!:thumbsup2

Yep, that scene was added for the film. Instead of Percy and Scrimgeour visiting at Christmas trying to recruit Harry into the Ministry, they have a Death Eater attack on the Burrow. I read about it a few months ago.

I cannot wait for this movie either!

Do you know of any other changes or additions?

I can't wait for this movie!!! :thumbsup2 It looks SOOOO good!!!

I believe they also added a scene burning Hagrid's Hut, and I'm pretty sure that is what is burning at the end. I'm not sure what the part with the Weasley family in a circle is. They also have said that Bill/Fleur's wedding isn't being shown in any movie.

http://www.cosforums.com/showthread.php?t=117938 :It has a scene-by-scene type analysis about what is in the movie, what was cut, etc. I am afraid the 6th movie isn't going to be as stellar as I would hope. Apparently there's much more focus on the romances budding (sorry, I still can't 'ship Ron/Hermione) than the story itself.

I saw the Burrows and the Deatheater surrounding it, but I think that the fire placed around it is out of protection for something. I am pretty sure they wouldn't burn the burrows.

SPOILERS *HIGHLIGHT BELOW*

I believe they also added a scene burning Hagrid's Hut, so that could be it in the trailer. They also have said that Bill/Fleur's wedding isn't being shown in the movie.

Well part of your spoiler is not in the 6th book, so that's actually immaterial and I wouldn't have expected to see it anyhow. I have been waiting ages for this movie. I have to go find my book and review so I'll really remember what's not in it:rotfl:

I meant that it's not being shown in any movie, and I only mentioned it because the OP said the Burrow needs to be intact for the wedding. The link I gave is rather detailed if you want to read it. I'm also re-reading the book, but I'm 99% sure that it will just make me hate the movie to re-read the book before seeing it.

Well, now I'm disappointed that they won't be showing the wedding in any movie. Bummer.

I always go to the HP movies with my DH and he's never read the books. I always wonder how he can follow the movies because they always cut so much out!

In any movie??

That's a bother. I deem it rather important to the next movie. Not the wedding itself, but what happens during. I'll admit I don't need every last little thing included in the movies, but I can't imagine how they'll compensate for this.

Is the last book still going to be 2 movies?

The last book is supposed to be 2 movies still. I don't understand how they'll cut the wedding since it brought everyone together for one last day, Harry is disguised, etc. I understand some things need to be cut, but it's been interesting so far. The movies do an okay job with the atmosphere, but they just aren't close to the books. I appreciate them trying though. ;) Maybe in 40 years another version will be made... how much longer can movies get? It seems like 2.5 hours is becoming the norm lately.

@skuttle: I always wondered how anyone who hasn't read the books understands the movies. They do take out huge chunks between here and there. I wonder if it's similar to watching the Kiera Knightly version of Pride & Prejudice without having watched another film version or having read the book. Completely lost!

Oh my gosh, that is disapointing about the wedding not being in the movie. So much happens surrounding the movie. I escpecially like the scene where the patronus comes and warns everyone, and then Ron, Hermione, and Harry together dissaparate. Ughhh, so much will be lost without the wedding scene. The part where the find Luna's dad wearing the 3 hallows necklace, bringing everyone together, oh, so much:sad2:

The last movie will have Bill and Fleur and scenes at the shell cottage, it seems like they would have left the wedding in. Especially since there is so much that happens at the wedding that leads into the rest of the story.

I believe they also added a scene burning Hagrid's Hut, and I'm pretty sure that is what is burning at the end.

Hagrid's hut does burn at the end of book 6. He and Harry put it out with their wands.

They said that Hagrid's hut burning is the only part of the "fighting at Hogwarts" they are showing because they don't want to be redundant since there's a Hogwarts battle in Movie 7. I am hoping that this isn't the case and there is the battle at Hogwarts.

The trailer shows the deatheaters (belatrix for one) at Hogwarts. It looks like they are flying into the great hall. It seems if they are there then there would have to be some fighting going on too.
