Harry Potter Con in 2014 in Orlando

Details about LeakyCon 2014 were announced last night.

As of last year, it's not strictly Harry Potter-oriented; other fandoms are included.

Here is what has been announced so far:

Location: Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida

Dates: Wednesday, July 30 to Sunday August 3, 2014

Registration begins: Saturday 10/19/13 at 3:00 pm Eastern Time.

Prices:
LeakyCon Lit Only - $100
General Admission - $150
LeakyCon Lit + General Admission - $250
Rockstar Pass - $350

On 07/30/13 there will be a private event at Universal Orlando. Details and pricing have not been released yet, but I think they said it will be in both theme parks because both parks will have WWoHP sections open by then. Private event should mean getting onto the rides with no waits (and we know the lines will be long next summer due to the WWoHP expansion).

Some one explain what is happens etc as i will be there next year from Aug 1st.

We don't have details, but there will be a private event at Universal Orlando on Wednesday 07/30/13, probably in both sections of WWoHP.

Beginning Thursday and running through Sunday, there will be programming. It includes serious discussions about the books. There are meetups with people who like what you like (such as Tumblr and Disney sing-alongs). There are autograph sessions with actors from the films. There are panels where the actors talk about their experiences with the films. There have been appearances by groups who do parodies, such as Star Kid (of "A Very Potter Musical" fame) and Potter Puppet Pals. There is Wizard Wrock. There is a Ball.

The actors have included those who played Luna Lovegood, Percy Weasley, Pansy Parkinson, and the guy who had a proclivity for pyrotechnics (I keep forgetting his name).

Non-Harry Potter people have included some of the Warblers from Glee, an actress from the Hunger Games, an actor from Rent.

Oh, and there's a whole Lit Track with authors, agents, publishers of Young Adult literature.
