Sorry if the answer to this is WAY obvious, but after watching the Prisoner of Azkaban on tv this week and just finishing rereading HP6........I had to wonder.
Why didn't the gang time travel at the end of HP6 to before the murder was committed and prevent it from happening like they time-traveled at the end of book 3?
