I just made a reservation for my daughters first hair cut at the barber shop. I didn't know you could make reservations there now. I saw the news onthe site and called.

A really big thanks to The DIS. There are so many changes happening all the time at WDW, The DIS is an invaluable resource to even seasoned visitors. Thank to everyone who keeps the content of WDWinfo updated.

we had booked in Aug and it was great!!! got a time we wanted and were taken right in! they reserve 2 chairs for appointments and the 3rd is for walk-ins!

I am so glad that they do this now because it always took us forever to get in but now it's nice to have a set time.

The Harmony Barber Shop still gets fewer than ten reservations per day. Almost all their business is walk-in. Having talked to the people who work there, they are not really happy with the reservations system as (1) they cannot see reservations on-line, only when printed out in the morning, and (2) most people don't know of the availability of reservations and are not happy when people cut in front of them.

One important thing to remember at the MK Barber Shop. When they removed the old antique cash register and put in a terminal to allow use of credit cards and hotel charges and the like they hooked into The Emporium's network. The register, unlike ones in table service restaurants, cannot handle tips as part of the transaction.

So if you are planning on using the Harmony Barber Shop please be aware that if you are using any sort of card you cannot add a tip on the card and should have cash available for tipping.

When we were there they individuals working did say they were having some issues with the reservation systems because it is so new and most people don't know about reservations. They were having some issues with individuals getting upset because they thought people were "cutting" when they actually had reservation. they are hoping that the kinks work out soon.

I go there once a month to get my haircut. I always wait for Michael to cut it. I hope I don't HAVE to start making a reservation but if I do I do. I just hope it doesn't turn out like the ADR for the restaurants. And for the tipping I have voiced my opinion in there and in several emails about this issue. I always make sure to take cash in to tip them. Disney should really look into letting them accept tips at the register.

DH and I witnessed this on our trip last week. He just walked in, thinking maybe he could get a haircut, but the place was packed. Then someone walked in with a reservation and this lady started throwing a fit because she had been waiting an hour and a half. Needless to say he didn't get his haircut. I didn't even know they started taking reservations! Clearly I'm not on the DIS as much as I should be!

Thanks so much for letting us know. I would just have left the hotel room in tourist mode with only the Key to the World card. The cast members in there are so great. I have been fighting off grandparents with scissors for the past 6 months waiting for my daughters first hair cut there. We did it 6 years ago with my first and I am trying to do the same for the second.
