My door bell rang at 6:30, again at 7:05, and once more at 7:48. That's it so far. My DD11 went to trick or treat with her friend in another neighborhood altogether. Where are all the children? I see them at the school bus stops in the morning. :confused3

Do we live in the same neighborhood?? I'm bummed. I love seeing the little ones come around but we only had about 3 of those early, now we are just getting the teens without costumes. Two of the boys didn't even have a bag or anything, guess they're just eating as they go along.:lmao:

I don't care if they're teens, in costume or not, I just want to get rid of this candy! Houses here are spread pretty far apart, I guess they've all migrated to a neighborhood where they can get more bang for their buck.

We had zero trick or treaters tonight. Or course it's 34 degrees, the wind is blowing, and there are snow flurries.

My husband gave one boy (teen) a plastic grocery bag because he came without one. :confused3

Maybe we do live in the same neighborhood. ;)

i live pretty far out in the country, and we don't have trick-or-treaters at all out here. DH and i usually take DD to our best friends' neighborhood (which is, ironically, only 5 minutes from our house, lol) to trick-or-treat, because they live in the center of our tiny, rural town. last night, our friends' neighbors across the street were telling me that they only had maybe 2-3 small groups of trick-or-treaters the entire evening.

I had two, which is two more than I've had in 3 years. I'm thrilled!

We hardly had any here either, not sure where all the kids were as we normally get a pretty good crowd.

It's pretty quiet here tonight too. We have probably had a dozen or so kids.

It's 52 and beautiful here. I just don't get it. It's a nice quiet suburban neighborhood with lots of kids. :confused3

I went through 6 3 1/2 lb bags of candy--but then, I live on a Military base.

I saw some great costumes, and some absolutely adorable little kids. My DD went as an Zombie National Park Ranger, but then, she is an original...

Trick or treating has been winding down over the last few years. We live in a middle class, suburban neighborhood and when our kids were younger--think in the 80's and early 90's, kids came by the van load from other neighborhoods and we had the kids that lived here, too. Trick or treating lasted for 3 hours and it went non-stop. Tonight was dry, cool but not too cool, and from 6-8 p.m. we may have had 3 dozen kids total. :confused3

The older kids are starting to come now-just got a dozen more or so. Not too many little ones left in our neighborhood though so that is part of it.

I don't think we even hit a dozen...maybe 5 or 6 kids tops.

I've probably handed out about 120 pieces so far. I'll leave the light on another 30 minutes, but most have already come.

I'll be turning out the light at 9 also. I doubt anyone will even show up after that.

aww thats too bad. We have had over 150 kids so far. Our neighborhood is large and allot of kids come over from a nearby city halloween party. I wont even tell you how much candy is gone so far.;)

We never get many TOTers because we are on a busy street traffic wise, but we TOT on the side streets and this year lots of houses did not turn their lights on. I'm beginning to think the neighborhood is turning into a lot of elderly people, whom I can understand if they don't want to give out candy. I think next year we might go to another neighborhood - maybe one of those complexes with the townhomes - lots of doors close together. It was cold and we here tonight. :goodvibes

I haven't seen any kids tonight. Last year I think I got 5, so I was expecting to see a couple, but it's freezing & raining right now...so I guess I'm not entirely surprised!

I'm in a townhome complex...haven't seen anyone! I'm always ready with candy, but I know if anyone else is!

We had 170 this year, my neighborhood is CRAWLING with kids and we have had 150+ each year we have lived here. We are the place to be for Trick or Treaters! :goodvibes
