I am still looking for places to stay overnight on our drive from MD to WDW. I am thinking Hardeeville, SC would be a good place time wise to rest for the night. Does anyone have any experience with the Sleep Inn there? Good, bad, good enough for the night and the breakfast?

Any other suggestions in that general area +/-an hour that you would recommend? Sleep Inn has 2 double beds with breakfast for $57, including taxes if I book now. So I would like it to be pretty similar. We won't arrive till around 11pm and will leave fairly early so amenities beyond breakfast are not important. Although I would like a safe place of course.

Thanks!!

I'd suggest driving a little bit more and stopping at the Savannah Airport exit (exit 104 in Georgia, about 15 miles from Hardeeville). There are several national chains at the exit, plus gas stations. I think both are safe, but the airport hotels feel a touch more secure.

When we lived in MD, the one time we drove to FL in 1989 we stopped at the HJ in Hardeeville. We would have driven farther but we had 3.5 and 5.5 year olds and they needed some time to play (and use the pool). What I remember is the sheets smelled like Ben Gay. That doesn't wash out lol. It was Nov so peak snow bird time. It was an okay place to stop then. We haven't driven since, but funny that that's the place you picked coming from MD. We leave early in the am when we drive any distance so we were there before 5 pm.
