What is the best way to get hard to book reservations? We are a family of 4 & have no problem eating as early as 4pm. I would love some ideas...
We are going to Disney in 73 days:cool1:

I still would love to book
'Ohana for dinner
California Grill for dinner
TRex for dinner

The only way for 'Ohana and CG is to call daily. You might have luck calling T-Rex directly, though. Good luck!

Try calling or searching online everyday up til the day you leave. When you get there, have front desk or concierge check for you as many times as possible if you still haven't secured what you're hoping for.

In regards to T-Rex, call the restaurant directly. You will almost definitely be able to get a reservation thru them.
Ohana & California Grill: Just keep checking daily, maybe 2 or 3 xs a day if you can. Also, keep an eye on the cancellation thread for your month (is it November?) on these boards.

Thank you so much! I am stressing trying to make the best choices for my family so we don't miss anything! This is our first trip!

Regarding T-Rex, as others have mentionned, we were able to get our ADR by calling the restaurant directly. We did this around 75 days before our vacation, and we were able to get the date/time we wanted. Best of luck securing your remaining outstanding ADRs :thumbsup2

There are many good restaurants besides those so book some other choices as backup while you continue to try. Good luck, but it'll be fun no matter what you get!

Check the website 100 times a day - LOL! And like someone else mentioned, follow the ADR cancellation thread for the month you are wanting to go. I was able to get a couple of harder to get ADR's (1900 Park Fare) but still not exactly what I want yet.

I do search several times a day and do see things opening up. I then post it on the ADR cancellation thread for September as an FYI to other people looking for reservations. For example, I found a Cinderella's Royal Table, Chef Mickey, 1900 Park Fare, and The Crystal Palace open up over the last few days. Of course they weren't ever the right day or time for when I needed them but it goes to show that they do pop-up on the online system if you keep checking!

Oh - and the idea about calling when you get there is a great suggestion as well!

Good luck!

Thanks everyone!!

Where do I get the phone #'s for the resturants?

T-Rex is the one to call directly. The number is (407) 828-TREX. The restaurant is not owned by Disney and only put a limited number of reservations in the Disney system. For the others, keep checking online or calling the main Disney dining reservation number.

I was checking for Ohana daily for my November trip and the earliest dinner was 9:25pm, we have a 4 yr old so that won't work.

A couple days ago I found TWO spots one at 7:55 and one at 8pm on two different nights. So keep checking!

Thanks! My kids need to be eating between 4:40-6:30 or they become monsters, lol

I am on a mission to check every chance I get:surfweb:

We were origonally going with another family but they ended up not being able to go so changed several ADR's right away. Then this week my mom and niece have decided to come with us. Thankfully I had never changed my Ohana ADR, I know my chances of being able to change that one back would have been really hard. Unforunately I did change my ADR at CA Grill to 4 people and as of yet I have not been able to change it back to 6.

I keep the site up all day at work and just check periodically throughout the day. No luck yet, but I'm hoping. I'm also planning to call first thing each morning.

I suggest you book alternate ADRs for other restaurants. If you get lucky, then cancel them. But as others have said, check several times daily, even after you arrive in case of a last minute cancellation.

Seeing that you have young children, I would suggest a character meal (Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, Akershus, 1900 Park Fare, CRT). You might want to also check out some places with "atmosphere" such as Whispering Canyon Cafe (dinner), 50s Prime Time Cafe, Sci-Fi Dine In, Ohana (dinner), etc. It's hard to balance the kids having fun with the desire for more adult food.

I would keep searching online....very easy to do and you NEVER know. I am going Thanksgiving week and was able to just recently score Chef Mickey, Citricos and 'Ohana. I got on today and a California Grill showed up for Thanksgiving night but was gone quickly.

I am still on the hunt for Tusker House breakfast Thanksgiving morning and will keep on trying........ :)
