Hard to get PS for first week in may?

WOW AKL concierge said no ps's for le cellier 5/2 and I called and they said no but someone cancelled while I was on so we got the ONLY PS available for that night! Are the crowds going to be that bad

Boy I hope not... we will be there in mid-May. I had a little trouble getting a PS at 'Ohanas but I think that was because there will be 10 of us and we wanted to sit together.

We were there last May, 1st week, and it was not deserted, but not crowded either. Had no problem getting our PS's, including changing a couple around once we were onsite, and I even got next-day ressies for Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast. Keep trying - I bet there will be a cancellation that you can snag.

Our 11th year in a row for Spring/early May trip. While the crowds are not Easter or Christmas crowds, it is by no way deserted. It is nothing like September and January. There are lots of activities, lots of school groups, lots of locals using their seasonal passes before summer blackouts kick in, and probably a convention or 2. If you can't get your PS, always try after you get there. I do believe (JMHO) that they set aside a few for resort guest because I usually can get into things last minute (Except character meals) We have been trying for Chef Mickey's for 5/3 with no luck so far for only a table for 4.

bubbasmom99 - we did get the PS - as the guy on the phone told me no availability he said one just cancelled so we have an 850 ps.

This wouldn't have been a problem at all since all of our PS's were made by concierge back at the 90 marks - but we wanted to eat our last night at Bistro de Paris - and there is apparentely a private party there - which we didn't find out about until the end of March (a few days before they were going to make the PS - so they got us a PS on Sat instead - but that was the night we were supposed to eat at Le Cellier so we asked them just to switch it to sunday - so yesterday they come back and say sorry No ps's that night all booked - I will be back in 2 days and we can play around with your other nights then - and we didn't want to wait because we didn't want to be closed out of something else on the last night of our honeymoon - so I called with a list to change it and the CM said we must be REALLY lucky since that rarely happens that someone cancels when people are on the phone and many places were booked that night.

Guess it will be more crowded than we had thought!

Makes me glad we made our important PSs early. It is not uncommon for the popular restaurants to book up, so always good advice to make PSs as early as possible. Always get nervous for those who wait until they are there.
