Hard Rock Reservations?

Hi All!! I'm new to the board and have enjoyed reading all your posts. Here is my question. I ordered the entertainment book online. I then called hrh and booked a vacation for 7/22-7/26. They told me they had no rooms with the Enter. rate. They gave me a rate of 199 a night. They asked if I was a AAA member and I told them yes. He then told me that the 199 was with the AAA rate. I then went to Universal Boards Online and saw where the rooms were $199 pool view and that was not with the AAA rate. I'm not sure if this guy was rushing me through or if it was an honest mistake. I am glad I told him I would mail a check in instead of having my CC charged. Now I am thinking of cancelling my reservations and rebooking with a Travel Agency by my house. Do you think I would get a better rate through them? I want to find a good rate and am even thinking of changing my dates of travel. To me October is a nice month to visit along with December. That is when I usually go. I wanted to try the summer months since the kids are out of school and we can stay longer, but will move up the dates for a better rate.
Here is a few of the places I have stayed if anyone has any questions on these sites. Contemp. Ft Wilderness 4 times, Portifino Bay, last year.

Who did you call ... I've always found Loews to be most helpful ( 1-800-LOEWS-11 ). Anyway, call them and ask for regular rates, Florida resident rates (do you live in FL?), AAA, and Entertainment. I'd also ask about the PBH for the same. For instance, for my stay in early July the cheapest room I could get at the HRH was $205/$185 (rate change during stay), but I could get a room at the PBH for $187.50 using the entertainment rate, for a lower overall stay rate (we're staying at the HRH anyway though for the better pool and location).

I have reservations for July 21 thru 24th at HRH, We have a garden view, with the entertainment rate of $117. a night, we made the reservations last month..from what I understand they only set aside a certain number of rooms for the discounted rates..I would try changing dates if possible to see if maybe a different time of the month would have rooms available with the discounted rate. Good Luck.....

Thankyou for all the web links. I called the Hard Rock Hotel directly. It was 407-(something)- rock. Anyway I called back and told them I didn't think the guy gave me a AAA rate. He told me that the guy did not give me a aaa rate but.. if I ordered the Hard Rock Cafe card, I could have a 7th floor room for 149.00 a night. It's the Concierge. He said I wouldn't be able to get the pool room with that card because it was full. He then said the only one they had left had a King size bed. I'm taking 2 teenage sons 14 and 17. I'm not sure hubby wants to go. I think he would rather go to the Keys for Lobster season. I would much rather go to Universal... but who knows he may change his mind. So if he does decide to go, I would have to get roll out for my boys. HRH told me to call back when I get the card. In the mean time I will check out these links you all posted. Thankyou again.

Vicky Fla-
You got me really excited with that $149 rate for the 7th floor. We are going July 21-24. Since I have a card, I called but they advised there are no rooms avaiblee for that rate, nor would that level ever be offered for $149/night. Do you remember what # you called when they gave you that rate? I'm not ready to give up. Thanks!

Disney-

I called 1-407 503-ROCK..I'm starting to wonder about reservations. They did tell me I could have the 7th floor with a King bed for 149. Now I'm starting to wonder what is going on here. Your going the same time I am, just about! I guess when I get my HRH Cafe card I will know for sure. They told me to call back and give them the number on the card. I'm still searching around for a good deal, though. I really don't won't a King bed (only). I have already spent 50 dollars on the Ente. Card and HRC card just to find a deal, geezzzzz.....Keep in touch...

I only paid $4.95 for a Ente. card from the Disney Club.I haven't joined Disney yet I'am waiting till July so I can have it longer. But we are going in Sept.4 for 4nights we got the Ente.rate of $117.50. The deluxe room with a King bed would be $149. I went with the $117.50 so we have to beds no sitting room.

I'm going July8-10th. I got one night at /entertainment rate of $129.00 and one night at $199.00 both pool view. How do I get Hard Rock Cafe card and how much is it?
Thanks

Hot Rod-

You got a great deal! I just had to change my dates to July 8th and HRH only has kids suites or club level...I was quoted 275...To much money, so I will still be looking around.

Vicky

Travelscape.com has a rate of $169 standard view for a garden view room at HRH for July 8th.

Happy travels!

If you get the Annual Pass for USF / IOA (the 2-park pass is about $170 + tax, I think), then you can typically receive a good discount at HRH & PBH.
Can never get any luck with the Ent. card $117.50 rate, but get a decent AP rate at $129.50.
So, depending on which multi-day park tickets you're needing, it might be cost-effective to simply obtain the AP. And return for a few extra trips!
Good Luck & Have a Great Trip!
Jim

Don't forget the discounts for APs, like 10% off food and merchandise. These discounts can really add up! :)
