Hard Rock Hotel

I have had a couple of Deluxe club rooms, but never a king!! I am hoping for a kids suite this weekend, but when I requested one, they said they were all taken.

I sure do. There are actually four deluxe king and four deluxe queen rooms on the club level at HRH. The deluxe king rooms are: 7016,7039,7102,and 7119. The deluxe queen rooms are: 7019,7041,7099,and 7101.

The king deluxes 7016 and 7039 have views of the side parking lot and service areas. They also however have a view of Universal Studios in the distance. 7102 and 7119 have very nice garden and waterway views.

The queen deluxes 7019 and 7041 have views of the hotels front entranceway which is not that attractive. 7099 and 7101 have nice garden views of the great lawn and water waterway.

I just called about how to get a deluxe on club level (we are booked for 6/24-6/29 on club). I was told that there were none. The booking agent said that when you book club level, they "put you in a deluxe room and put you up on the 7th floor". I asked how many square feet is the room I booked and she said "almost 500 sf." What are these rooms you are talking about - and was I misinformed? I know the RPR club rooms are only as big as the rooms on the other floors. Are HRH club rooms bigger than on other floors?

I will become a Loews Gold with this stay. Just looking on how to have the best chance of getting the biggest room without paying more $. :scratchin

deluxe rooms are 500 sq ft.
standard rooms are 375 sq ft.
kids suites are 650 sq ft.

check the website for the hotels.
each one lists the sq ft of each room for each hotel.

yes, rph rooms are smaller than hrh

The website doesn't list the sq ft for a club room though. ANybody have any experience with both standard club rooms and delux rooms on other floors. Are the club rooms bigger?

Club rooms at HRH are the same size as the rooms on the other floor. We managed to stay in a deluxe room on the Club floor after contacting the guy in charge of Loews first ( I think -- it could have been the guy in charge of the club level.). We faxed him a clever song rendition of why we needed a deluxe room and I guess it impressed him enough to book us the room!!!

Very often, the booking agents have no idea what the heck they are talking about. I don't think they are informed that there are any deluxe rooms on the club floor since they are all priced the same.

When did you send your song? WHen you booked or before you arrived?

macraven,

Although 7100 and 7102 seem like they are next door they are actually across the hall. King suites and deluxe rooms are on the corners of the halls where they split. Your suite was located on one corner and directly across the hall would be 7102. The rooms directly next to you were 7116 and 7098 and they have the pool/park view. 7102 is a deluxe king and has a view of the gardens and waterway. I agree with you that 7100 along with 7040 are the best king suites in the entire hotel. The views that come with them and being on the club floor can't be beat.

E&B's Mom,

The rooms on the club level are standard rooms at 335 sq ft. They do have some additional amenities that the standard rooms don't like bathrobes and turndown service. The way the hotel is designed there are deluxe rooms on every floor located in the bends of the hallways where they split. Therefore the same goes for the 7th floor. I guess they just decided not to price them seperately from the other club rooms. It's the luck of the draw or having a request honored. The reservations agents for Loews don't know about the deluxe rooms because they are priced the same and assigned the same as the regular club rooms.

pathubia,

Good luck getting one of the two kids suites on club level. I have never been lucky enough to get one either but don't lose hope. Rooms have a way of opening up so you never know. Good luck!

I just got an email from Hard Rock as I inquired about the deluxe rooms on the club floor. They stated that upgrades for Loews First members do not apply to the club level rooms. I think they make this stuff up as they go along!

ryguy, you are so good on remembering and knowing the room numbers !!

i need you when i pick my lottery numbers, with you, i could be a winner.

i didn't know that about the 7200...
yes, 7100 right on the corner and a fantastic room.......
i couldn't believe the size of the dining room table in there......

breathtaking view......i left the drapes open all night and used the park as my nightlight.........

i feel like a traitor.......for the first time ever, i am not booking at hrh.
i booked last weekend for the rph.........it was a matter of $$ that made me make this decision.

i can't get over the guilt i have in making this choice.
i love hrh

I understand completely. We had stayed four times at HRH before trying RPR and it did feel like a betrayal. I worried for quite some time that the vacation would be ruined because we were not at HRH! :rotfl: Well, we had a great time. We have been back to both HRH and RPR since that visit. DH and I are leaving for HRH in 7 days :bounce:. Given how stingy they are with the upgrades over there, this may be our last visit to HRH!

Thanks for the Info! I put my request in this afternoon! Wish me luck on getting one of the Deluxes!

Does anyone have pictures of a king suite at HRH. I'm going President's Week with two 10 year old boys (my son and a friend) and I'm hoping to have a little more privacy than a regular room! :cool1:

When do you request an upgrade? Do you do it far in advance, a few days before you get there or when you check in?

if you are booking as a loews guest, request the upgrade when you originally make the ressie.

if not, call about 4 days before you come and inquire about it then. this time, call the hotel direct.

lastly, when you check in, ask at the desk.

if none of the above work out for you, it might not happen for the upgrade.

there is the outside chance to request the upgrade while you are checked in and willing to move rooms during your stay though. last year i spent 2 nights in a standard room and then upgraded for the rest of my trip.

Hi, when I spoke to the HRH on the phone they told me the club level rooms are almost 500 SQ feet, larger than the standard but not quitre as big as the deluxe. I was going to get a deluxe room as I snore and no one will sleep with me :confused3 . I took the club for the breakfast/beer/cookies. Did they trick me? And by the way, how is the food/breakfast for the club level. Thanks

Our family just completed a four night stay at the HrR. We started in room 1041, upgraded to club room 7101 and spent the last 2 nights in 4041. We had booked the annual passholder rate of $169 for deluxe (standard was $149). At check in, I was told $70 to upgrade to standard club, but $100 to upgrade to club deluxe-- the upgrade would have cost the same had I booked the standard room at 149. I declined, but asked again the next day. The clerk offered $70 for the deluxe upgrade as an "exception" (we had malfunctioning tv in the first room). He had to get permission from someone on the phone for this.

We did not find the club level to worth $70 a day, even for a family of 5. The breakfast offerings are: cereal, fruit, donuts, pastry, bagels, bread, apple/orange juice, coffee, tea, milk, yogurt.

There are no daytime offerings other than soda, tea and coffee. Even the milk is removed after breakfast.

The evening offering the night we stayed were reheated Sam's Club type frozen appetizers (2 varieties, both equally bad), left over fruit from breakfast, cheese cubes, tortilla chips. Free wine and beer. That's it! We have had more selection (and similar quality) at the Homestead Suites free "manager's nightly reception".

The "late" offering- 8:30-9:30 was rice crispy treats. And, don't bother asking for one before 8:30 pm (my son asked at 8:25 and was refused).

We have stayed at several other hotel's club levels and have always found cookies in the afternoon, a nice selection of quality appetizers in the evening and a spread of good desserts.

The next day I downgraded us back off of club, citing the poor food and that we needed something earlier than 7:30 am. The desk clerk said the food used to be great, but they had changed it at the start of 2006, supposedly to make it more child friendly.

Other benefits are use of robes, discounts on cabana rentals and use of the club concierge. Everyone judges value differently, but I would value what HRH club offers at about $30 a day. For the same $70, my entire family enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the Kitchen restaurant with enough left over for cocktails in the hotel bar. And, the buffet breakfast is vastly better than the club breakfast (omelette bar, a dozen hot choices plus everythinng offered on club).

Also, the deluxe rooms are much larger, but the sleeping area is identical. Most of the extra space is in a dressing area across from the bathroom. We needed the deluxe for our son to sleep on the rollaway sofa.
