Hi
We are planning in staying in the Deluxe room size for with our family of 5. Does anyone have a picture of this type of room? Is there a separate living room area with couch + chairs, table etc..? I see that it is ~100sf larger than the standard room. We are paying $40 more a night for this upgrade.
Thanks for any info!! :flower:

Hey, AllieKat!

Where did you find the link to the HRH from iceportal.com? I tried to visit their site to see if there were any other resort VT and I couldn't get to it....

Thanks!

I couldn't get to the virtual tours either by going to iceportal.com. What I have to do is go to google.com and search for "Hard Rock Hotel" and "Ice Portal", just like that, which quotes and everything. You can do the same thing with any hotel. If Ice Portal has any virtual tours for the hotel, then they'll come up in Google search. I know there's got to be an easier way, I just haven't found it yet. :)

:teeth: that is exactly what I was looking for. Not too impressive..I was hoping they had a whole seperate TV/living room area. Looks like they just throw a couch in the corner of the room by the beds. Still thinking about this one....maybe we should just go standard and save ourselves the $160+ for the 4 nights?
I have heard people talking about requesting certain rooms or floors..some are better or something. Any idea on which floor or area to request in the HRH?
also...sorry for all of the questions....do you or does anyone have any babysitting services to recommend while we are at the hotel? Hopefully they are safe to use.
Thanks again for the virtual tours link!

I agree, their deluxe rooms aren't all that impressive. I personally would just save the $160 and book a standard room unless you think the 5 of you will be "standing on eachother" in the room. Being able to have a little "breathing space" can sometimes mean a lot. :) When I stayed at HRH 2 years ago, I booked a standard room. I didn't request anything specific in regards to the room location. My view ended up being the parking lot.

Last year when I booked RPR I faxed them a letter prior to my arrival asking for a nice view...and not a nice view of the parking lot or interstate. I ended up with an awesome view of IOA and the waterway & bridge that's in front of RPR. Very nice. :) My suggestion would be to ask the hotel for what you prefer and let them know what you don't want. They of course can't guarantee anything, but it's well worth it to ask.

As far as babysitting, I've never had to use those services as I don't have children. I know that HRH has "Camp Lil' Rock", RPR has "The Mariner's Club" and PBH has "Campo Portofino" which are supervised "activity centers", not sure if they're really babysitting services or not. It sounds like they are to me, but I'm sure someone here can comment on that. :)

Just found this info regarding babysitting services. The info came via email from an RPR staff member.

"The supervised activity centers are for children ages 4-14. An alternative for you might be in-room sitting services, which are available 24-hours a day. I can highly recommend both All About Kids (800.728.6506) and Kid's Nite Out
(407.828.0920); each service does require a 4-hour minimum for their
services."

HTH! :teeth:

First off, thank you! :)

Hmm...upgrading to club level. Well, I've never upgraded to club level because it's just me & my boyfriend, we don't have any children. I see that in May, there are APH rates of $159 for garden view, $199 for deluxe room and $249 for club level. It wouldn't be worth the extra $50-$90 a night for just the 2 of us.

We like eating breakfast at Cinnabon, Starbuck's and Green Eggs & Ham (we actually look forward to green egg & hamwiches). We also always look forward to turkey legs at IOA and anything at Margaritaville. I'm definitely a snacker, but find that I just can't pass up lemon freezes, moose juice, goose juice, cotton candy, cheese fries & pretzels at the parks. Heh, yes, I always gain 5lbs. while on vacation. Anyway, with all of our eating at the parks & CityWalk the 2 of us just wouldn't be able to find time to snack back at the hotel.

But, having traveled with my sister & 2 year old Niece, I do know that the two of them return to the hotel often and would absolutely love to be able to go back for snacks. My sister would be all over that one. Had she known club level existed while she was there, she would've booked it. Sorry, didn't mean to write a novel. I know lots of people on these boards have stayed on club level so they probably would have better advice for you. :)

The places you mentioned sound YUMMY!
I'm from Seattle, so you know where I'll be getting my latte every morning!

WOW! Where did you find those rates???? And for what weeks in May? I'm starting to think I'm just stupid or not looking in the right places
I have HRH, deluxe, 5/10-5/15 for $296.10. That is AAA discount, but was considering the APH. I've looked on Lowes, Universal, AAA, Orangevacations, and can't seem to find much.

If that's the best I can do, then OK, but I don't want to get soaked :umbrella:

Can anyone help???????????????????????????????????????????????

Thanks

The dates I used were 05/08/05 to 05/11/05. I found them on Universal's website and used the APH promotional code. :)

You can make 2 reservations. The first 3 nights of your stay are available using the APH code for $199.00 a night. You could buy 1 AP and use it for hotel discount as well as food/shopping and parking discounts (not to mention another return trip w/i a year;))

So...you could book the first three night using the AP and the rest of the nights using your AAA. Just a thought!

Thanks JessicaR :flower:

I didn't even think of two reservations

I already have my tickets ~ Buy two, get three ($99). Can one of these be upgraded?
Do you have to get the preferred annual pass (179) or can you get the regular (119)?

I know ~~~~~ alot of questions. I don't travel enough to know what the heck I'm doing

Thanks ~ you're a peach :thewave:

Once again ~ Here I am

I just checked Universal & the 199 price is for a standard room with two people.

Because there will be five of us, Three Girls (16,14,11), I definitely need the extra space! You know how girls are ~ They have to bring just about everything they own, because you never know who you'll see.

So, for a deluxe room with four people it comes up $249 + 25 (for the fifth person I would Imagine) = $274. Still better than my $296, but then there's the annual pass :scratchin :faint: This could drive you crazy!

I'll have to keep checking

ALSO, THANKS TO ALLIEKAT ~ You're also a great help on these boards :flower3:

Yes, you can upgrade one ticket to an PAP (needed for the discounts and no blackout dates).

I just checked again...the $199.00 if for a Deluxe room not standard. When you call request a dlx rate using your AP. That room fits 5 easily! Quite spacious. We stayed in one with 4, it was the way to go.

The price of $199 is for your family of 5, you can add a rollaway if you like or bring an air matress for the 5th. Your kids under 18 are not considered extra adults.

You can go to the website click to onsite hotels open reservations and availability and type in APH for the code...the $199.00 rate will come back for the first 3 nights only.

If you need help...let me know, it can be exasperating...I know!

This is the reservation form,,,print out. If that helps.
Also where it asks how many adults in a room your answer is 2...the kids are free under 18.

Daily Rate: (per room)
199.00 United States Dollars
Room Description:
Deluxe Room 2 Queen Beds Sleeps up to 5 500 Sq Ft large living area Stylish Decor CD Stereo System Coffee Maker TV
