I've seen hard plastic pools around town for toddlers, but I haven't been able to find the blue one with the slide in it. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I had one as a kid, and I know my friend got one for her son a couple of years ago. Do they not make them anymore? I feel like we go through the plastic blow up ones before the summer is even over and thought these might be sturdier...

If you have any info, I'd appreciate it! :)

Thanks!

Jen

Our walmart had them last year in pink and blue. They were round with the integrated slide. they had a few sizes of pools but only the large one had the slide. They had them outside in the lawn and garden area where the mulch and stuff was.

I see them every year - if you are in an area with Farm n Fleets or Farm Kings -- they usually have them too.

Any discount department store is a good place to try too.

I bought one several years ago from toys r us. It was a nice size kiddie pool. It was a dark blue square with a yellow slide. (It wasn't one of the small round ones) I know some stores have them in stock and some you have to order it. If you look at the display where they advertise the swing sets, they had a little paper on the pool. We loved it!

I bought a really good sturdy one from toys r us ( little tikes brand) about 7 years ago. It is still in really good shape. If you want a long lasting one, that brand is worth the extra $.

Thanks everyone! Glad to know they are still out there. Maybe I am just blind. I'm in Utah if any other Utahns read this and happen to see one.

I was in ToysRUs last week and saw the hard plastic pools with the slides. They were displayed high on a shelf near the door (inside).

I bought a nice soft side pool for my grandson that was about 18" tall. The ones with the same plastic bottom as rbig pools but a sturdy heavy plastic side that stands up when filled with water. I put his little tykes slide in it and he had a ball. If you can't find the pool you want try this.
the best thing about this was that he didn't have to keep getting out of the pool to go down the slide so I didnt' have to keep cleaning the grass out of the pool that would have stuck to his feet.

I put my daughter's Little Tykes slide in her pool too. We have the hard pool like OP is looking for but it doesn't have a slide. The outside of our slide is outside the pool so she does track dirt into it, but oh boy, does she have fun.

Last year she had this inflatable boat that is for kids to sit in in the pool. She sat in it and made me push her down the slide so that she'd crash into the side when it hit the water. She thought this was so much fun. LOL

I'm not from Utah, but have friends who live in Ogden. Was talking to her on the phone when i read your thread she said she saw these at Walmart just the other day. Hope that helps.

I bought my daughter one of these pools at the local Walmart last summer and she loves it. I think she used the slide more for the pool toys, but maybe this year she will get more use out of the slide.

The best pool and slide combo is definately the Step 2 big splash center... I work in a daycare center and we have 3 of these which we have had for 10-15 years. They are discontinued... (last too long I guess) but you could look on craigslist.http://www.ioffer.com/i/Step-2-Big-...g+Splash+Swimming+Pool+Playhouse+Slide+P/U+IL

I agree! That was/is the best pool.

I bought it in 2002 with the slide for $50 or $45 (I think I had a coupon for $5 off Ames).

I only had one kid then & I sat in it with her & I was able to stretch out if I wanted to fully cool off. I could even sit on the side with out making a dent.

It was great in 2003 when I was pregnant with my 2nd child. My oldest would pour water on me.

In 2008 we got a waterslide but I still filled up the kiddie pool since my 3rd child was still small & didn't like the slide that much at the beginning of the season.

But spring 2009, I sold it on CL. I saw they were going for $100+ on Ebay so I took my chance & listed it for $100 & I got it. Wooo Hooo...

My husband has seen a few here & there at the dump over the years. He knows now to grab any that he sees so I can try to sell it.

Thanks again everyone! That Little Tykes one does look great, I'll check on Craigslist. I called Toys R Us and they did say they had some, they must have come in after I had checked... or I didn't see them.

We had the Step 2 Big Splash center - hard sided, and snapped to our slide. I found it at a garage sale for $5, and sold it 4 years later on CL for $100. :cool1:

I purchased the Little Tykes blue oval with the slide and sprinkler when DS was 2 for $40 at Toys R Us. After 13 years and who knows how many kids played in it. I sold it this past October for $10. I definitly got my $30 out of it. All I did was scrub it every once in a while and it was great. The lady who bought it couldn't believe how old it was or how well it had held up.
