....Just back from our 6 day trip. DH-41, DW-35, DS-7, DD 3.
Arrived Saturday May 11th at All Star Movies at 10 am. Much to our surprise, the room was ready. We stayed at the Fantasia #5 bldg. THe resort is very colorful and appealing to the kids. Rooms were clean and were sufficient since all we do is sleep in them. We dropped our bags and headed for Epcot. DH and I did the kid swap thing and road test track. It was great. Even though we used fastpass the standby line was only 15 minutes. Next we did Ellens universe of energy. There was no lines at all. First time on it and it was good. Next we did the land, followed by spaceship earth. Stopped by ice-cool station. Loved it, it was a nice break. Went to innoventions. Kids liked to play with the computers. They sent a video email to their cousins and when I got home I saw that they emailed me a copy. When I clicked on it I realized it was someones elses kid. I was sooo disappointed. I can't beleive they sent the wrong one. We had lunch outside near the big fountains. The fountains put on quite a display to music every so often. My favorite thing about Epcot is that there are so many places for the kids to get wet. They love all of those little fountains that squirt out of the ground and the misters. I never saw so many happy kids all at one place. I feel bad for the kids whose parents said no when they wanted to get wet because they dry off in no time.
The crowds at Epcot was minimal.
We went back to the resort to take a swim and a little break and then got dressed to go to MK for Spectro.
Arrived at MK around 7:00. Kids were in awe with the castle.Main street was pretty busy. We
got a snack and looked around a little and then scoped out our spot for Spectro. Since most of main street was already busy, I took the advice of a friend and went over near the Hall of Presidents. There was nobody at all lined up for the parade. We took a spot right in front of the Christmas store and sat down. Spectro started at 9 and was fabulous. Always brings tears to my eyes especially now that I watch it through my kids eyes. THis was DD first opportunity to see any characters. She waved and blew kisses to all. We stayed right where we were for the fantasy in the sky. We had a good view of tinkerbelle even though it was kind of far away. Since it was a side view we got to see her start at the top of the castle. Fireworks were nice. The crowds moved steadily out of the park and we were back at the resort within a half an hour. Great 1st day.
Stayed tuned to day 2, breakfast in the castle!!!!

bld a few years back......also the food court there is great.......thanks so much for your report

Happy to hear of good times.

My DD and I too happened upon the "no crowds" in Liberty Square. It was Wonderful to see the Parade through her eyes.

Thanks for sharing.

Darbee, wondered how you three year old handled Disney. Did you take alot of breaks for a rest - or early evening to get to bed early?? Just wondering how to get everything in without a nap for dd who is 3. Usually takes about a two how nap each day! Thanks for any help or suggestions

... most of the time when we are at home. The funny thing about Disney was that she was able to substitute a swim for a nap. I know that sounds funny but we started our day at a park right around opening time (9 or 10) and usually went until 3 or 4 and then went back to the hotel to swim a bit. My intention was to take a quick swim and then go rest but she just played around in the kiddie pool and it completely revived her. If I had thought that she still needed a nap I would have fit one in. When we were all showering and getting ready she would lay on the bed and watch TV and one time she did fall asleep for a half hour. I don't think she was as tired as I expected since we pushed her in a stroller everywhere!!! The only thing that she didn't like at Disney was the noise. Everything is so loud that she spent 3/4 of the trip with her hands on her ears. She was scared at Fantasmic but I had her lay her head down until the scary part was over and she loved the end. Good luck and I would be happy to answer any questions. :)

Sounds like you had a great beginning!

Thanks Darbee - sounds like a good idea. We can just play the naps by ear. I don't want to have every minute scheduled, but I also want to make sure we have time for everything. Thanks again for all your help.
