So as the K-Man already told you in his review of Yachtsman, Thursday night, Mark got out his blackberry and messaged Jeremy about hooking us up for reservations for Jiko’s Saturday night. I’ll tell you … after 65 years of being covered in coal dust, life is so much better being covered with pixie dust.
Mister Disney had the roof down on the Sebring as we raced from our hotel to Animal Kingdom Lodge. What a wonderful adventure! While we love the roof down, and the K-Man especially loves the wind blowing through his hair, the poor signage on how exactly to get there caused a couple of sharp turns, at least one of which was on two wheels.
Thank goodness there was alcohol ahead of us.
A fast check-in with the valet and before we knew it the three of us were down at the front desk of Jiko’s. Mister Disney announced he and the K-Man … once again neglecting MOI, which meant I’d be sitting on SOMEONE’S lap, but who am I to complain.
The hostess light up like a fresh diamond strike. “OH … WELCOME, Mister Disney and K-Man”. Immediately, they began scrambling through the reservations computer. Of course, I had already been looking at it to see if I was included in the reservation, and thought I was when I saw the word “HAPPY” flash across the machine. As it turned out, it was “HAPPY BIRTHDAY … MISTER DISNEY!” The smiling waitress handed Mister Disney another Happy Birthday button and told us that our table was ready and our server would be over in a moment.
In a flash, our hand picked server, Nasser Dardari came over and introduced himself. His bright white teeth sparkled, again reminding me of the old days, as he led us to our prime seating at the center table in front of their chef’s counter (better known as "The Cooking Place"). Talking about being hooked up with prime seating and reservations. WOO HOO! HAPPY … Happy Birthday Mister Disney!
