So as the K-Man already told you in his review of Yachtsman, Thursday night, Mark got out his blackberry and messaged Jeremy about hooking us up for reservations for Jiko’s Saturday night. I’ll tell you … after 65 years of being covered in coal dust, life is so much better being covered with pixie dust.

Mister Disney had the roof down on the Sebring as we raced from our hotel to Animal Kingdom Lodge. What a wonderful adventure! While we love the roof down, and the K-Man especially loves the wind blowing through his hair, the poor signage on how exactly to get there caused a couple of sharp turns, at least one of which was on two wheels. :scared1: :scared1: Thank goodness there was alcohol ahead of us.

A fast check-in with the valet and before we knew it the three of us were down at the front desk of Jiko’s. Mister Disney announced he and the K-Man … once again neglecting MOI, which meant I’d be sitting on SOMEONE’S lap, but who am I to complain.

The hostess light up like a fresh diamond strike. “OH … WELCOME, Mister Disney and K-Man”. Immediately, they began scrambling through the reservations computer. Of course, I had already been looking at it to see if I was included in the reservation, and thought I was when I saw the word “HAPPY” flash across the machine. As it turned out, it was “HAPPY BIRTHDAY … MISTER DISNEY!” The smiling waitress handed Mister Disney another Happy Birthday button and told us that our table was ready and our server would be over in a moment.

In a flash, our hand picked server, Nasser Dardari came over and introduced himself. His bright white teeth sparkled, again reminding me of the old days, as he led us to our prime seating at the center table in front of their chef’s counter (better known as "The Cooking Place"). Talking about being hooked up with prime seating and reservations. WOO HOO! HAPPY … Happy Birthday Mister Disney!

Ooh la la, Jiko!!

Hoping to go there on our next trip, so can't wait to hear your review of it! :yay:

The first review I've ever read which was written by a garden gnome. I'm ever so excited!

So....the evening begins...

Servers far and wide and Jiko's Manager Jeremy come over to pay respects to the celebrities in the midst, Mister Disney and Mr. D's K-Man and Moi!

After greetings were completed, I was sat very unceremoniously on the bench seat next to Mister Disney and no one asked for a booster seat for me (you see, if you haven't notice, I am vertically challenged), so I got the lower level "view" of the K-Man under the table :scared1: :scared1:

Nassier came back to the table to gather our cocktail orders, so that we could imbibe while we perused the menu choices, when all of the sudden, there arose such a clatter, as Mister Disney and the K-Man are asked if they would honor Jiko's with a photo in front of the Cooking Place wood burning oven. No one even thought to ask if I would like to be in the picture also :confused3 :confused3

So....up in a FLASH, I sneak onto the Cooking Place counter and gather yet another 15 minutes of fame....

Please note, I dressed the boys in similar outfits as my own. Red Shirts, blue pants....they will wear pretty much anything that I lay out for them, it really is the least I can do, ensuring that they are nattily dressed. :laundy: :laundy:

Oh my goodness, those matching outfits are so cute!!

Yep, it's official. That's the cutest photo I've seen on the DIS boards for a LONG time!!!! :worship:

And look, even the big red oven thingy behind you matches!!

I think we NEED to clear up what I am SURE is a misnomer....

I am not a "gnome" my dear woman.

I am part of the World Famous 7 Dwarfs, ask around next time you go to WDW, EVERYONE has heard of me, from cast memebers, to guests and even a Princess named Snow White!!
:snooty: :snooty:

Your reports are only getting better, I do love the new member of the family.....
