I have missed our good morning threads the last few days - something about turning in your notice at work leads people to believe they can pile all of their old projects on you!

At work today. Our new TV armoire for teh bedroom and the cable guy are coming to the house this afternoon. Thankfully DH will be going home to deal with them. LOL and hopefully hook up my Wishblade while he's waiting.

Tonight we are going to the preview of the movie Accepted. It looks pretty funny.

Let's see.. today.. on the agenda... nothing til this evening when we have practices... Tomorrow will be a good day though.. we have big plans to go to the water park tomorrow evening! yeah!!!

I am enjoying my students although they seem to be a quiet bunch this year. I only have a couple that have a problem doing homework.

I'm taking a lunch break from rolling clothes right now. I kept putting off the packing, but I can't do that anymore unless of course I want to buy all new stuff when we are there. Not that DH will go for that.

Busy day at work again. Doing new student workshops - yesterday and today - on study skills etc.

PrincessNancy - Heading down your way to Bloomington for a meeting then a visit with my youngest dd (23) before heading to PA to visit my parents. Will be back on Wed for Freshman Orientation - it's one of those quick trips that leave you wanting a vacation from vacation!

Can you say NO to all those dumped projects?

Boy, do I wish I could, vanyel. I turned in my notice over two weeks ago, and they have just now REALLY started looking for a replacement. But here's the rub...I do fiduciary and estate tax...ever heard of anyone doing that? No? That's because there are very few of us who do this type of work. It seems they are just now figuring out I may be hard to replace. So, I am getting, "can you please do this one more estate tax return".

Wave as you pass by.. I'm headed out to Jo's shortly.. Need some papers... I just got back from Bloomington a month or so ago.. OMG! What a change since I was in college.. I almost cried!! It's gorgeous.. was when I was there but even more so.. especially the new walkway over Fee Lane in the Business School... OMG!!!

Bloomington is a beautiful campus. I always feel a bit envious when I go there. I've thought about trying to transfer into a position there but that's a big move and I do like what I do now.

One week to Disney. 6 days, 6 hours, and 19 minutes to take off...not that I'm counting or anything. Tonight is last minute planning with the rest of our traveling group. This trip started off as a plan to go down and relax with two of my husband and my best friends. 4 adults, all who have been down a couple of times at least, no big rush to do anything. Lots of time to relax in the Beach Club pool. Now though, my FIL and my 5 (yup, 5) SILs are going to be coming too, and this is the first time for all of them. So much for relaxing. Lots of fun, but lots of craziness too.

I teach 3rd grade. I love this age because they can do work by themselves but they are still young enough to love their teacher.

What a day. It started out with my sleeping in a tent in the backyard with both (yes, both) kids. They had a blast and I had fun too. I'd rather have been inside watching TV, but... Then we had to major shopping because we are have 20 people at our house all weekend. Many are kids. It should be an adventure!

I'm off to make Wookie Cookies and cole slaw (no, not at the same time!). Enjoy what's left of your Thursday!

Wookie Cookies are chocolate chip cookies, but with a twist - 2 types of chips and cinnamon. Yumm-o! I can send the recipe to you if you'd like. We got it out of the Star Wars cookbook. YES, I AM A DORK!

(Of course, that is not to imply those that like Star Wars are dorks, just that I don't really like it, but I'm married to a fan and have 2 children who love it as well. How many 3 year old girls can talk about Count Dooku and know what they are saying? I would bet not many.)

Good thing you had that tent sleepover last night..because I'm sending storms your way... or at least they are headed that way.. We got hit twice today with good ones...

OMG, I just remembered something that my SIL said and I meant to tell you guys! She saw some of my circle journal stuff (including the database, etc ) and was shocked that there was a disney scrapbooking so many people into it and said something like "you're just like those Star Wars people....except you're more organized".
My dh thought that was the funniest (and most true) statement he's heard in a long time!

Hey Girl... What swaps.. off to stalk where you have been... I'm trying to limit myself with school starting back and kids' sports.. We'll be traveling alot more soon when basketball season starts... so I'm trying to be good!!!

Our first day of school was yesterday (8-10 a.m. for students), and we had a line out of our office, down the hall, around the corner, and to the door of people wanting to register their new student (in addition to the 994 we already had). Never mind that new student registration was a week ago!

When I got there this morning, the office was standing full of more people waiting to register, along with a bunch of kids who forgot/lost their schedule! It was a crazy day, but at least it was 3 o'clock before I realized it!

Mickster--I think I need that Wookie Cookie recipe! That sounds great!!

OMG! Nothing like waiting til the last minute!!!! I had DD transfer her schedule to 7 sheets of paper and put them in each class folder.. She has tried her locker combo everyday since she has practice every day.. She is already getting phone calls from school to volunteer for things already! Heck, I shouldn't have paid book rental with as much as we volunteer!!
Well, I hope tomorrow goes smoother for you!!! Here's to the weekend.. It will give you a much need break!!!

Stich is our Hero- I can't imagine the first day in the office, even at an elementary school its crazy but at least about the time all the other schools around the counmtry are starting back we will be fully into the swing of things and getting ready to wind down our first 9 weeks.
