Dave, thanks for posting this and for all the wishes from everyone. I thought I would share what's going on with me.
I went in for a long overdue hysterectomy last Thursday. I have been putting it off for several years, but with some of the things going on with my body, I no longer had a choice. My doctor wanted to do it last month, but we already had a FW/WDW trip scheduled and NOTHING was getting in the way of that.
During my surgery I began to hemorrhage and things just went down hill from there. My kidneys went into shock and I had a fever so for about 12 hours, it was uncertain whether I would make it. (I get all choked up as I type this...just the thought of leaving my babies growing up without their mama sends chills down my spine.) Thankfully as quickly as things went downhill, they began to turn around just as quickly. Around 6 a.m. Friday, my kidneys were jump started, my fever broke, and a few hours later, I received a blood transfusion. The transfusion did not bring my blood up to the level my doctor wanted, but it was better. I am on strict bed rest, a high iron diet, and Fetron capsules. Hopefully, next week, my blood and iron will be up a little more, but I've been advised this will be a long journey to a complete recovery.
I can't tell you how much it means to me that you all would take the time to send me well wishes as I am fairly new around here. Saturday night while black and blue with bruises all over my body, busted blood vessels in my eyes, and an immensely swollen face, (I would have made a great Halloween costume) I looked over at my husband and said, "if I had a computer, I would be checkin' out the Dis Boards." He just rolled his eyes, shook his head, and said, "you and your Dis friends." Mind you, I did not think about you all before my babies, but I did think about you.
Well, my mama is in town helping to take care of me and she is watching me like a hawk saying that I've been up too long. Back to the recliner.
