They would be like the homless that sleep in the public lib.

I think it would not be out of place to do that at the quiet pool of their resort.

I know many a firemen that pull doubles before they come to WDW so they can get two 48 hours off in a row. They hit the parks when they arrive. None of this ooohh I need my beauty rest princess stuff.
Don't they know all this metro girly man stuff is out and the rugged tuff guy stuff is back.

suck it up nancy boy.

I've actually done this, its called a lounge chair at the pool with headphones. :thumbsup2

Once again I'm reminded why I don't read the resorts board!

Hopefully, a napping spot for DH will be the only crisis she faces on this trip.

You know you might have something there. It's almost like a car wreck, I go over there and some of the things people find acceptable just makes my jaw drop :scared1: and I come back here to the sanity of people who understand that there are limits to what is acceptable behavior.

I mean if you are going to crash on some hotel's couch that you are not even a guest at, heck just pick one out along the way and stop and go in and take a nap.

If anything, do as suggested by prior poster & collapse on a lounge chair @ the resort you'll be checking into:confused3 .

Hesitate to be too judgemental though, some people are on a shoestring budget & need to cut corners or they wouldn't be able to visit the World @ all. Fine line between one person's sensibilities and anothers.

Do agree though that, at best, it's ghetto to squat @ your neighbor's "home" uninvited.;)

It's more like a NASCAR race. Every time you go to one, there's a big wreck. Pretty soon, you find yourself going back again and again...to see the wrecks!

For future trips I'm considering starting my DVC ressie the day before we arrive. I will call to let them know we are doing this, and this way our room will be ready when we arrive the next morning.

If it's a weekend it may not be the greatest of ideas, but the numbers MAY work out to be more economical than getting a hotel.
There would also be no moving hassle. :smokin:

Probably so, and I am almost sure those suggesting that someone "camp" out at the DVC resort lobbies to nap are not members.

I realize in the big scheme of things it does not matter, I guess I just can not fathom doing such a thing. Never would I even consider it. At times I am beginning to feel like a dinosaur.

It's a train wreck in more ways than one. MVMCP with a one year old and a guy who hasn't had a good night's sleep (or any sleep!) - boy is that going to be a miserable evening.

You gave your $.02 on the resort board. Why come over here to criticize it? :confused3

Oh and to answer your question.....it's not a choice that I would make but yes I think you are wrong for posting like you are about it.

...

I'm guessing because of the Iron Spike Room suggestion, and the DVC connection, that's in a DVC building. Did you not know that?

You mean like posting at other forums on the DIS complaining about this? Yes I definitely find that kind of behavior tacky.
Um...OK.

Not to speak for Sammie (she is certainly capable of doing so herself), however, my guess is that she came HERE to post about this because one of the suggestions was to find a DVC resort and crash there. Since those of us on this board OWN those DVC resorts, we have a definite and vested interest if someone is coming to our HOMES (and yes, these are our vacation homes, not just a hotel) to crash on our couches uninvited.

I am not trying to be mean or nasty to you...but please consider it this way...how would you feel if a complete stranger came to your home and just decided to take a nap on your lawn?? I have to think that you would not appreciate it. This is how we feel about our DVC resorts...they are our second homes. I hope this explains why Sammie's (and mine) opinions are what they are as well as why she chose to post it here.

Best wishes.

Because many of us DVCer's don't read the resort board. He was just letting us know about an interesting topic. To quote the great Larry King "Let me ask ya somethin, Why do ya care?"

Heck, I don't like it when a complete stranger's dog is being walked near my lawn! :worried:

I am constantly amazed by the things people think of. I think it is extremely tacky to take a long nap in a hotel lobby.

I guess I'm just too uptight as I could never fall asleep in a public place like that. I'm even self-conscious about sleeping on planes! I posted on the other thread that I thought OP should have husband come home and sleep for a few hours...and I'm speaking from experience as my DH works 12 hr. shifts with a 2-3 hr commute (r/t). I think she (OP) is just very anxious to get to MVMCP, but I think she's going to find out the hard way that a tired hubby *and* a tired 12 mo. will not be good companions for an after-hours event. Oh well, best of luck to them -- I hope they find a way to make it work.
