I'm working in the kitchen today on the actual Thanksgiving Day (Thursday) getting ready to host our family tomorrow (today is the day they can spend with their Inlaws the Outlaws :rotfl2:).

And went to Mass this morning during which I realized how thankful I am to be associated with a bunch of great camping friends (many of whom were together at our DISMeet less than a month ago). Ya'll are good people. Period.

So have a great Thanksgiving today, tomorrow, and/or this weekend. Here we have our gathering (16 ppl) tomorrow, then the Bama-Auburn game here in T-town this year on Saturday (some staying over), and then a bit of a breather till Christmas.

We are truly blessed. :littleangel:

PS - my main goal this afternoon is to make a CRANberry cheesecake for tomorrow. I am a cheesecake freak. Plain NY style, pumpkin, peanut butter, chocolate, cranberry, (and I'm looking for an apple-pie flavor [apple cinnamon]) recipe. Oh so good.

PPS - for Christmas next month, I look to make the Trails End Bread Pudding recipe but want to improve on it (the feedback loop has been working over the past few years). So we shall see.

ED, As a native New Yorker I will glad offer my services as a Quality Control Inspector for the Cheesecakes. My neighbor growing up was a baker that made one that put JUNIOR"S to shame. So, I have an extremely refined and trained palate

Well I apologize as it's the day after Thanksgiving and here's to hoping everyone had a blessed day with family and friends.
I think I'm going to try making the Trail's End bread pudding that Ed so kindly provided. I have an convection oven so this Christmas I'll try it as written. Now this isn't to say the 2023 version wasn't excellent. It didn't last long as seen below.

Thanks, Ed! Hope you had a wonderful day.

I recently found a good gluten free brioche so I may be trying the TE bread pudding for Xmas.

I've got recipes for 'plain' cheesecake, caramel cheesecake, peppermint bark cheesecake, & Rolo cheesecake but no 'specific' apple pie cheesecake.

I've topped the caramel cheesecake with warmed canned apple pie filing (I know 'canned is cheating') mixed with caramel sauce though. It turned out pretty good.

Well said Ed. I felt that way as I got to meet more people from the boards and realized how many of you I met in person over the years at FW before the meet this year.

Hope everyone had a great thankgiving.

To all our fellow Dis'ers Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy your families.
Happy Thanksgiving, friends! Not only was this a weekend of cheat foods, but we went over to the World for 1 night for Jollywood party and stayed at...All Star Music. The convenience of a hotel room just doesn't beat the feeling of my cup of coffee outside of my beloved popup at the Fort. My big, grown kids are so disappointed that I dropped the ball and didn't get a NYE reservation...no way I live this one down.

I made apple, pecan, and banana cream pie 😋. Hosted 30 people - all siblings and their families - and couldn't be more grateful.

Allie, did you get Dec 2025 booked when Nov/Dec 2025 opened up not long ago? I see the dates around 1/1/26 available today in Tent/Popup sites. ED
